Yeah... these songs don't reflect the same person anymore, it seems that his human side, his essence has disappeared with popularity and money...
@Mikey_mau52 жыл бұрын
@@hekoancien I don’t think this is true at all. He’s one of the few big producers that didn’t “sell out” and start collaborating with pop artists. He just kept doing his thing, for better or worse. His music is still fantastic but he’s gone back to the techno of his early early years. Artists evolve and try new things over the years. This style lives on with his new collab with kascade.
@urphakeandgey6308 Жыл бұрын
To the people saying he "sold out," I guarantee deadmau5 would be a little more popular if he stuck to this style. It's rather basic plucky "melodic progressive house" and he'd easily be the biggest name in the genre. He's bored of it. It's literally just super saw chords with a filter. If you want similar stuff to this, search "melodic progressive house." That tends to be the one that's closest to the plucky chords of early deadmau5.

Seen Joel play this song twice: first time I was in gr 11 at the roger’s centre, my nose started bleeding when the first note hit so I used my shirt as a rag and tossed it to the floor after, flash forward to this year, I’m turning 30 and I see testpilot with my younger brother, Joel starts taking requests so we both hold up our phones with JADED and sure enough he plays it… pure magic. This song has been with me a longtime, and I’m grateful for the memories.

Still listening to this in 2023. Some of Joel’s best work, ever. This was a really exciting time for Progressive House music and today it feels as if Joel and co have completely let go of making such music. Each and every note & noise serves a purpose and it’s sad to think that Joel won’t make music like this ever again.

This is the best progressive club music I’ve had the distinction to hear since the deep house club music of the 70’s and 80’s. The light has finally come to the end of the dark tunnel we’ve had for too long. Love love love.

... The very next song I discovered of his after I Remember (with Kaskade)... 2000-and some shit... Still vividly remember I was in front of my desktop in my old apartment and couldn't believe what my ears were hearing... Such a special place this one..
