Wow! They are some weird technical issues Joel is facing. As someone who has travelled all over the world providing support to artists who use Ableton (the software he is using) for live performance, I have never come across those problem. Thanks for posting the video, I will keep my eye out for this error in the future, so strange!

Poor guy. I legit feel bad for him here. Most people understood the technical problems and cheered along regardless, but it's pretty obvious to fans when there's any kind of problem and these were big. Some of the fans could have been kinder, frankly. It happens, deal with it.

Can someone breakdown what draws them into this type of music? Everyone has different tastes, but this type of music is one I’ve yet to grasp what hooks people in. Maybe the bouncy-ness of the beats?

It is a very difficult question to answer in reality and the same goes for all tastes in general, since it is something very abstract, but even so, I could say that like classical music its greatest attraction is its complexity, here is it's sonority and what you can do with it. I'll chime in here (coming from someone who used to ONLY like & listen to Rock/Pop/songs with instruments and singing) Deadmau5 seriously manipulatives sound in such a creative manner - it's unlike anything I've heard, but it really should be appreciated on a good pair of headphones or a good sound system. Look up Dolby Atmos & Deadmau5: it's a short video and I think it encapsulates why I got into his music; there is so much depth to each song, and it's always a slow build but give it some time and you may find yourself a fan... Just my two cents. Cheers!

Listen to it with headphones from spotify or apple music. What attracts me are the melodies, a catchy melody that resonates with me is absolutely euphoric, its like a drug. When a good producer can combine melodies with all the other aspects of EDM is creates a synergy that I cant explain and I do not get this from any other genre of music. I am not a fan of heavy vocals in edm, I prefer the music to be the star. I recommend listening to a “Melodic deep house (instrumental)” playlist.
