about #mau5trap:
Over a decade since its formation, mau5trap -- the independent record label founded by groundbreaking electronic music producer deadmau5 -- has become a bastion for trailblazing and genre-defying artists. Casting a palpable influence over the genre, Mixmag readers voted mau5trap among the “Top 50 Labels of the Decade”, placing it in the Top 10; since then, the imprint has been supported by dance music magnates Billboard, DJ Mag, Forbes, Insomniac, & The EDM Network.
The multi-genre platform has served as an authoritative platform for dance music heavyweights such as Skrillex, REZZ, Feed Me, Zedd, Noisia, i_o, Dillon Francis, Chris Lake, & Madeon; a combination of dark, forceful techno & complex, electro sounds, the label acts as a hotbed for rising talent like Lamorn, RayRay, Volaris, DI SUN, & others alike. Welcome to the horde.

Every year on my birthday, I get in my car, put on this song, and go for a drive down the windy backroads of my city. I reflect on the last year of my life and my life as a whole. It's a tradition that hits me deep in the soul and gets my next year off to a great start. I recommend you do the same. This will forever be my favorite song of all time and I salute all of you who appreciate this song for the masterpiece that it is!

I remember when I was little and my mom was a club promoter. She came back one night and had this DVD of a mix tape with house music. We listened to that DVD almost daily. Our favorite artist was deadmau5. We would clean to this song dancing with my mom as she vacuumed. So many awesome memories with this album and his others. His music actually changed our lives! And I literally mean it. I love coming back to it.

@MaaniGoldleaf-kj5wl I wish I can say I felt the same. t brainwashed and poisoned the community. Being surrounded by so much death and drugs violence it becomes sickening when its the anthem to the destruction that surrounds you. They say often times art imitates life. To some people it's just music to other people it's reality. Growing up was traumatic and filled with fear. Entire neighborhoods addicted to drugs, police sirens being heard 3-4 times a day. Entire blocks wrapped in yellow tape. Police helicopters buzzing in the sky deep into the night.

This tune brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear it because i have Anxiety and depression, it gets me thinking of what a traumatic life ive had but it also reminds me of the family members and friends that i have lost over the years, particularly my mum. When i feel down i put this tune on and let all the tears and pain flow out of me, it is also an awesome tune!

I'm 27 now from the Midwest. Graduated HS 2010. When this came out I was in my last years of highschool and this song was playing in every car, basement, party and nearly everyone knew it. PLUR and raving was big, dubstep, drugs were too. It makes me really nostalgic for my teenage years, and really depressed to think about the people in my class that passed from OD's and suicides at such young ages. I hardly know anyone from those days anymore and I'm a totally different person but I still long for those nights we'd drive around town aimlessly for hours with a car full of our friends and cigarettes, this song on the Ipod. It's crazy to be sitting here a decade later and think, "Damn, it really went by that quickly"

This is one of those songs for me that unlocks a specific period in my life. It’s a very bittersweet memory. 17, my first “relationship” and losing my virginity. She was 19 and in an off again, on again relationship with her 26 yr old boyfriend.. who she ended up ditching me for. It was my first job, decent sized company (20-30 employees) and she was the boss’s daughter working there - everyone fancied her, she was honestly super attractive. You know those people who just have “it”. I used to fantasise about her every day, just imagining what it would be like if I ever got the chance to talk to her, and creating scenarios in my head. I’d even pray to God, saying she was my dream girl; if I ever had the chance with her I’d be the happiest guy in the world. Never in a million years thought it would happen. Long story short, it happened. But I don’t even blame her for it not working out, at all. I was a decent looking lad with a “fake confidence” that I couldn’t maintain. I love this song. But again, it’s bittersweet. Because every time I listen to it.. I remember.
