I have a theory about this movie. I think the whole idea of Michael "Speaking" is related to his killing. Michael doesn't speak with his voice he '"speaks" with violence. The movie is started because the podcasters demand he speak, and so he does. Dr Sartaine demands he say something so Michael does.

We learn more about the doctor and nurse couple @15:34 in Halloween Kills. Their names are Marcus and Vanessa and they are on their way to a talent show/costume party at a local bar where they encounter several of the other OG characters from the 1978 film. Both the doc and nurse have quite a lot of memorable scenes in the sequel. It's fun how they are indiscreetly introduced as background characters in this first film!

She doesn't want to remember the things Laurie put her through, so her mind is letting her forget, all while her maternal instinct is giving Allison words of wisdom. It's very well played.
