Zach Burson hey Zach! Thank you so much man. Everyone in the band pulls from different places. I think the main influence from this song came from that sort of old gypsy jazz kind of feel. No real distinct artist. One night the guitarist and I (singer) were messing around with the chord changes in the verse and I just sang a melody and we were like... that's kind of cool. The whole thing kind of grew out of that melancholy sort of feeling.

This is a masterpiece with a style I’ve yet to see be replicated in any other song. The track feels like it’s constantly chugging away on a tight schedule, before it derails into the most metal sound you have ever heard, then simply returns to it’s regimented sound. Despite maddening twists and turns, the song still feels like a giant crescendo that culminates in a rewarding final verse.

Just discovered this song after checking the setlist in preparation for an upcoming concert and I instantly love it. It seems the lyrics were much better, or at least deeper in their beginnings, but they have gotten so much better in releasing banger singles and anthems.
