Wolverine clip at the end was Ryan Renold Deadpool’s first movie but they screwed it up with the weird design and fans hated it. So Deadpool went back in time to jokingly kill his first bad appearance.

I don't know why they (the studio) went for that direction for a well known - no, a pretty iconic character. I mean, it's like redesigning Spiderman into an icky, mutant man monster and hoping everyone will be okay with it.

@@nitrokid My only guess is Striker in character would wire his mouth shut because Deadpool pisses him off. I believe he saids in the movie to Deadpool "if only you could control his mouth he'd be the perfect soldier" (or something simular), a bit of forshadowing I guess. Yeah its a crap design but I guess if Striker hated him talking so much it makes sense that Striker would seal his mouth as a form of sick revenge for having to listen to him for so long.

It was bad, but I think the idea was that he was the Merc with the Mouth, throughout the movie. And then the idea that that was too annoying to the general. and that was kind of his revenge. And I don't think they planned to ever use the character again, so they had him as the Merc With The Mouth until he wasn't. If the character isn't going to be used again then there was no reason to keep him as the Merc With the Mouth. So it makes some sense, but stupid things can still make sense. As in I can understand the idea/reasoning, but it was still a bad choice. They changed a lot of things from the comics, like Juggernaut did not seem to be any relation to Xavier and many other character changes, but those were for the most part minor characters, whereas Deadpool is popular enough that he should have been planned as a main character with plans of using him again or giving him his own movies. But frankly I think that after the first movie (the second was still pretty good) they really changed too much seemingly just for the sake of change, and not good change, and contradicted previous things too much or if they weren't contradictions they left holes in the explanations. They really made a mess of the history of Emma Frost, Cyclops, Mystique.......

She can't walk into a convenience store and by winning lottery tickets every time. Domino's power (sub-conciously, I presumed) manipulated the strings of reality to work on her favor, seemingly 'lucky' to everyone else. It's literally a domino effect. One thing affecting other things. If you ever seen a weird contraption where a marble fell into a spoon, etc and ultimately creates an omelet or whatever; it's kinda like that. It's like a big, hilarious machinations. Everything that happens around her happen for a reason.

The end credits scene where Deadpool shoots the guy standing in the doorway is a reference to a Wolverine movie that also featured a version Deadpool. It wasn't a good movie, and no one liked the Deadpool in it. There's also another scene where he shoots Ryan Reynolds just before he accepts a job offer to play the main character the Green Lantern movie, an extremely maligned film.

Domino is actually one of the most powerful mutants. Her ability, unlike most of the others, is entirely passive. What ever she is doing it just “works out”. It’s VERY difficult to fight someone who inherently can’t “lose”.

Truth to be told, when Domino (and many mutants) were created, not much "science" was put behind their powers (back in those days nobody wanted a quantum physics class to accept the concept of a girl that bends reality in her favor and has no control over it). As science advances and audiences get more concepts easily, that has forced writers to explain better why people can do the things they do, and what things can be accomplished with those skills.

Fun Fact: Josh Brolin played both Cable and Thanos. Benicio Del Toro played The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy. Both Josh and Benicio also buddy up in a serious role in two amazing movies, Sicario and Sicario2. It's really funny seeing both of them interact together in Avengers: Infinity war. Yeah Deadpool isn't in the MCU currently but he'll be brought across through the multiverse at some point for the third film. But right now the time travel rules in the mcu (with Iron Man etc.) Are different to the X-Men universe

I don’t think the rules are necessarily different; in the main MCU they’re not so much traveling through time as they are using the time Crystal to actually manipulate time itself. Consider a spatial analogy. What cable is doing is equivalent to driving on a road while what doctor strange is doing is physically altering the terrain

A way to explain the differences between time travel in Avengers and Deadpool is that the Avengers use the Quantum Realm which allows them to create alternate timelines, while Cable uses his own time machine that uses a "closed loop" of time travel.

So I'm not going to try to contradict it. - Stark LAUGHED at the idea of planning a time heist using "Back to the Future" rules. - Banner explained that the present BECOMES YOUR FUTURE so you cannot go back to it if you change it. - The Ancient One pointed out that removing the stones would CREATE A PARALLEL TIMELINE. - But then Stark said "sh*t" WHEN HE REALIZED he'd actually designed a TIME GPS to not get lost in alternate timelines and come back to the same present. So, the Avengers used a THINGAMAGIG device that directed their return through the Quantum Realm as you said. While CABLE USES his own WHATSISNAME device that might or might not include a similar correction design. Closed loop, you said? Cool name! Stark design seemed to be creating like a Möbius Strip, which I think can be classified as a closed loop ----> X-MEN CONFIRMED IN MCU! OMG!! And yes, why overthink it trying to find an explanation? Well, because it's fun. That's one of the reasons Marvel created their "NO-PRIZE": To encourage readers to find continuity/reasoning fails AND THEN provide an original explanation of why that apparent fail was, in fact, not a fail at all. SYNERGY all over the place!! Gotta love it :) Or you can just apply suspense in disbelief and continue enjoying the rest of the movie. Also a very valid response. I'm gonna shut up now.

@@Lonestar1430 That's not an answer though. And it's not true either. Both types of time travel are based on REAL time travel theories (very fascinating ones btw, look them up. Branching Time Travel and Closed Loop Time Travel, and there's a third one that Back to the Future uses). The reason they're different is because both movies were made at a time when Disney and Fox weren't merged, so they had no intentions of sticking to each other's rules. That's not lazy, it's just unfortunate.

The Deadpool movies aren't connected to the MCU at all. It's loosely connected to the X Men universe. The references are only there because Deadpool likes to break the 4th wall. Time travel in this movie is a lot more simple and familiar than the Avengers Endgame version.

@@fanosup yes but they couldn't technically call it the Helicarrier because at the time of Deadpool 1 Deadpool and the MCU were owned by different Studios. Now they've merged and Deadpool can officially coexist with the other Marvel characters. Just like in the comics

Her luck ability is a mental power, she doesn't control it, but it works in the background like a big octopus reaching out and affecting things around her. Moving things, adjusting things.. oh this guy goes to shoot her, it will jam his gun, she shoots at Cable, it moves the bullets so they hit the air canister, it glides her parachute to where it needs, pushes cars away that are near her, etc.

I always thought it was weird to give luck powers to a character called Domino. Dominos are never associated with luck. I mean of course it had to do with her appearance, but they usually combine powers and names in comics, even so far as having some characters given names just happen to match their powers. She said that things just kind of fall into place for her, but only in the movie were they able to show that working so perfectly. It really fits when I see it here as opposed to in the comics.

Back to the future. That is one to mess with your mind trying to figure it out. Predestination, while the story is a bit slower than most films, it too messes with the mind, Primer is another one. I saw your reaction to the first Deadpool movie and loved it, stayed on to binge watch the reaction for the second movie, and your reactions are absolutely delightful ^_^. Here's the best interpretation I can give you of the movie ending wrap-up time travel shenanigans (at least as far as I interpreted it as a nerdy human). If Deadpool were to travel back to a point in time, change an event and then return to his original point in time, he's creating a divergent timeline. An offshoot probability. So if Vanessa doesn't die in the first place, what reason would he have to team up with the X-men? Would he have had a reason to run into Russell and help him? Would he have run into Cable? Would any of his X-Force team joined or died? I guess the one factor that could have bound all of that together and kept it on its path would be Domino. Guided by the hand of lady luck, she's exactly where she needs to be at any given moment, and everything will happen for her the way its meant to. Maybe its a cop out answer, but I'm gonna pin any time travel loose ends on Domino's fate making sure that she always ends up where she needs to be, and interacting with the people she needs to interact with. So something would always happen to orchestrate that person into crossing Domino's path.

The whole killing Vanessa thing was a neat way of tying in the 'Lady Death' romance from the comics - Deadpool and Thanos both try to romance her in the comics and that was a large plot piece in the comics - I guess killing Vanessa was a more grounded way of bringing that in (as the movies don't go to quite the same level of surrealism as the comics do)

You have to kind of forget Endgame exists when watching other stuff with time travel in it, as Endgame uses completely different rules. Endgame is part of the MCU story, while other Marvel films (Deadpool, X-Men, Fantastic Four (earlier versions, not the upcoming version), earlier versions of Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield) , the original 2003 Hulk (Eric Bana) film, Ghost Rider, Man Thing, Nick Fury, etc.) made by Marvel or other studios are not part of the MCU. The rules used here are used in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (highly recommended comedy, staring Keanu Reeves), and the Back To The Future trilogy (again, highly recommended). I'm pretty sure you'll absolutely love both of those! I also think you'd love the Dr.Who (2005) series (about a time traveller), once you've finished the other 11,632 series you're currently watching, or have lined up. You may need to go steal the Time Stone from Dr.Strange (before he gave it away), so you can watch everything.

At the time of the Deadpool movies being made, the MCU movies are not any part of the X-Men/Deadpool universe. One of Deadpool's powers is he talks about OUR UNIVERSE because he sort of knows he is not "real". So he "knows" about the DC movies, the fact the actor who plays Cable (James Brolin) also plays Thanos, about Avengers and so on.

As to the discrepancies of Time Travel, this movie was produced by a different studio, and the principals of quantum physics are altered by the base studio production by a factor of 0.009742653 (it's clearly shown in the math of time travel - you can see it if you zoom on Tony Stark's dynamic build in the last movie) and any quantum physicist will back me up on that.

I think the time travel thing difference is simply because it was developed by a different studios, at the time of this movie Fox was not owned by Disney yet, Actually the Cable actor is Thanos in Avengers, so it's safe to say they were unrelated. Also time travel is very complex no one version of it is "correct". about that last scene, without spoiling anything, Ryan Reynolds (deadpool actor) was casted as deadpool in a wolverine movie a long time ago already before this version of deadpool, but everyone hated what they did to the character of deadpool in that movie, so basically Ryan started a crusade to basically "reboot" the character to what it really was and thus these deadpool movies were born. So in that scene he is shooting his own old version of deadpool that everyone hated also its An-TEE-hero :)

In the comics Deadpool dreams of being an X-Man but so far he's never made the Big Team. The first X-Force team was basically the New Mutants who left Xavier's school, went rogue and joined Cable as their leader, this is the team Deadpool was originally on after his introduction as a villain and turn to being a hero. The 2nd X-Force was the original X-Men team led by Cyclops, they hunted other mutants for the government. DP was also on the 3rd X-Force team of black-ops assassins led by Wolverine. The X-Men want nothing to do with him and that makes Deadpool sad. He then turned his sights on The Avengers only to be tricked by an evil version of Captain America into doing Hydra's dirty work so he quit. Deadpool is a solo anti-hero, he works best alone.

The Endgame version of time travel is not from Marvel comics directly, they made it up for the MCU. All the X-Men movies so far have been done by a different studio: Fox, though they are both from Marvel comics, the two don't interact on screen, but since Disney bought Fox, X-Men will be rebooted to become a part of the MCU. (except Deadpool, it will continue as is because everyone actually agrees the Deadpool movies with Ryan Reynolds are great, not so for the mostly bad X-Men movies. I'd recommend just waiting for the MCU reboot to get into X-Men, personally) X-Men in the MCU could be a problem if they want to adapt the numerous X-Men time travel stories from the comics which don't lineup with the MCU idea of time travel... though there is so much X-Men material that they don't necessarily have to do the time travel stuff. & it's also a bit of a problem if this Deadpool ever appears in the MCU, I suppose.

They had to have a special device to exist outside of time so they would not be effected by changes to the timeline if I recall correctly. I collected X-Men comics and watched the animated show growing up. I have some knowledge of the rest of the Marvel Universe, but more so about X-Men.(at present I'm hard pressed to remember a non X-Men marvel time travel story) But Deadpool & Cable are considered X-Men characters, & I know X-Men definitely had a different idea of time travel than the MCU.

Ok, it'll be a long one... Back in the 90s Marvel Comics was bankrupt, so they sold rights for their characters to different movie studios. Most of them had a part that they have to make a movie once in 5 years or something similar. There were many movies that were in separate universes, Spider-Man 1-3, Amazing Spider-Man 1-2, Ghost Rider 1-2, Daredevil, Electra, whole X-Men/Wolverine/Deadpool series, three Fantastic Four movies, Hulk, Blade 1-3, two Punisher movies and probably something more that I have forgotten about. Then starting with the first Iron-Man movie Marvel started their own movie company, Marvel Studios. They were unable to use their biggest heroes (Spider-Man and the X-Men) so they used what they could. Over time they were regaining rights to some heroes, because other studios weren't making any movies with them (i.e. Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider). Sony was unwilling to sell Spider-Man rights so they cut a deal and let Marvel Studios use him, yet not giving them full rights. It's a complex deal, with who gets how much money from tickets, merchandise, who pays for what, etc. Then some time later, Disney (owner of Marvel) bought Fox, which owned X-Men and Fantastic Four movie rights. So far nothing has been done with those characters other than announcing that they're coming and that Ryan Reynolds Deadpool will also transfer to the MCU and even retain R-rating in his next movie. Also the trailer for the Phase Four ends with Fantastic Four logo. Also the Hulk situation is somewhat interesting, because for a really long time rights for his character were still owned by Universal, or at least rights to publish his movies. That's why there were no Hulk solo movies since The Incredible Hulk, despite the great popularity of the character after the first Avengers movie. Pretty sure Marvel got back full rights to Hulk like last year.

Duaffy: Technically, Deadpool is not even in the same multiverse as the MCU. Eventually, (if Disney and Ryan Reynolds come to see eye to eye) Deadpool will be in the MCU but since he is a character who knows he’s a movie character, he’s just gonna cross into a different multiverse where time travel works differently. Deadpool’s multiverse goes by the old, cliché time traveling rules (like Back to the Future and others) that believe that if you change the past, you also change the future. Endgame was right in saying that that is bullshit, but that is what nearly all movies before endgame went with (with a few exceptions). So the rules here are different and they don’t matter if they don’t match with Endgame. Hope it helps clear up the confusion.

If you travel to the past, you simply stop existing in your original timeline, when you travel back to the future you actually travel to an alternate timeline that is created based on the things you changed. Your original timeline exists, just you aren't in it anymore.

Just across the varies X-Men and MCU movies, there is four or five different types of time travel. A thing about Cable's version from the comics is that it uses "stabilizers" which allow them to jump forward and back on their own timeline, allowing them to change their past (and return to a future they do not recognize). So the way it works in Dead Pool is how it works in decades old canon. The way it works in End Game was specifically designed for that movie. They planned to make it standard for MCU movies. Dead Pool is not an MCU movie however and was actually written before End Game.

Deadpool is not meant to be serious Time Travel. However, Cable time travel keeps him in the same timeline if he changed it. Remember when the HULK talks to the "Ancient One" making a change in the timeline will have new branches unless they undo their change. For the Avengers, all they need to do is return the Infinity Stones back to their timelines otherwise, new branches will appear. In the case of Cable, he does not want to undo anything. He is making a new branch and when he time travels he will be on the new branch and technically his wife and kid are slightly different. Bottom line: what if the Avengers did not bring back the stones... new branches appear that will start being different and changing... and this is what Cable did.

Deadpool's two biggest super powers in the comic books is one that he is unkillable into that he knows that he's a comic book character. There are actually comic books where Deadpool didn't know an answer to something so he read ahead in the comic book to find out the answer. The thing with DP2 is that there are MULTIPLE end credit scenes, since it was not shown, did you watch the very last end credit scene? where DP goes back to kill a certain baby? if not you should rewatch the end credit scenes as him going back to kill a certain baby is a real gem of a scene.

15:45 the type of time travel that cable uses is different frm the type of tie travel used in the avengers. is like a different type of technology, while the avengers acctuly went to a different reality, and than came back to their own. he goes indeed to somewhat of a different reality, but he stays on that timeline, so when he came back to the future, he would be in the future of the timeline he changed, and not the future of his previous timeline. basicaly... is a different type of time travel, cable is from the future, so there they found out another type of technology to do that.

There are two schools of time-travel: linear and branching. They used branching time-travel in 'Avengers: Endgame', and they're using linear time-travel in 'Deadpool 2', so if Cable kills Russel it will affect his future.

About the MCU connects to this universe: in the comics the X-Men and Avengers are in the same universe and often work together, but due to the X-Men movies and the MCU movies being published by different companies they can't be in the same universe. Deadpool is a weirdly awesome character because one of his superpowers is breaking the 4th wall (knowing he is in a movie or comic and rolling with it). As such he can kinda control the universe or bend the rules, ignoring things or knowing things he cannot possibly know because its funny or because he just doesn't care. Basically "screw your rules, your not the boss of me, I do what I want" of superpowers.
