just watching a bunch of videos about slating and clapper boarding, and now I understand! So essentially, the camera is on record all the time, slate comes in to sync the audio and video (using audio from the video) and when the director yells "action" that's when the "virtual record" button is pressed! This is all for post production of course, which is very important of the process!

why dont they play the music while they film. I feel like the actors would get more into there characters and it would be less awkward, can someone please answer? If its because they'll get distracted they can always play the melody of the song not the lyrics so that the actors can get a feel for the scene and the mood and all of that.; they would be more confident in their lines and overall character.

That's how it works for big budget movies... But it's not only stunt men, it's also CGI. Like when someone goes flying, most of the air part is CGI and it only goes to real people when they land/a couple moments before they land.

That's the shutter angle, not the shutter speed. It's different on cinema cameras. its basically the same as doubling the frame rate.

is it just me or does filming a movie look REALLY boring??? i have been on lots of sets as an extra and it really is this boring. hours and hours of waiting around because you never know if there are going to be reshoots of the parts you are in, or worse the main actors having to do reshoots for whatever reason and you have to be on hand and in makeup just in case! pay isnt all that great either, though to be fair you still get paid for standing around so..........

I once did a day of shooting as background on Billy Cyrus’ show Doc. I was a Special Services, as dancing background for a club scene. Twelve hours to shoot a scene that maybe lasted 50 seconds total running time. 😒

They're shooting with two booms to capture two people at the start, both are set to their own mono tracks so they don't override one another. In post they take the audio from the microphone they want to use at a specific time and make it into a studio track for both ears.
