Deadpool knows he's a comic character that's why he keeps talking to the audience breaking the fourth wall. He spends the movie asking if anyone has seen Francis. The problem is no one else knows him as Francis just Ajax. Hugh Jackman is one of his best friends so they go back and forth with jokes.

Yeah with the 4th wall break that's one of his abilities. He somehow knows there's a multi-verse. And in our world he knows that he's a comic book character so that's why they have him always breaking 4th wall.

Yeah. In one of the computer games he literally has a combo move where he rips his life bar off the top of the screen and beats the opponent into submission with it.

Wolverine and Deadpool have a very long history in the comics which basically involve Deadpool annoying Wolverine. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are really good friends and continue the mock rivalry in making fun of each other.

Fun Fact: On April Fool's Day 2015, Ryan Reynolds posted on Twitter that the film would be rated PG-13, which prompted fan backlash as the Deadpool character often swears and commits acts of graphic violence. Later that day, Reynolds confirmed that it was a prank and the film would be R rated. Making Lemonade Fact: Throughout the film, Deadpool accuses the studio of not having enough money to pay for several elements in the movie. In fact, Fox Studios cut seven million dollars out of the film's budget at the last minute, necessitating several rewrites. Items cut from the film included a motorcycle chase between Wade and Francis, the addition of more named villains, and several action sequences. For the latter, the fights were scaled down by having Deadpool forget to bring his ammo and gun bags. What About Bob Fact: Towards the end when Deadpool is fighting the soldiers, he stops for a moment when he recognizes "Bob" among one of them. Bob, an agent of HYDRA, is a recurring character in Deadpool comic books, who is a cowardly sidekick type character and is often reluctantly forced to aid Deadpool in his escapades. The HYDRA aspect of the character was removed for obvious licensing reasons.

Xmen, Deadpool, and Avengers are all in the same universe. I love the crossovers that they do. Xavier's school for Xmen, and the final battle being fought on a heli-carrier from Avengers.

One thing I never noticed before someone pointed it out... Wade's on a klling spree trying to find Francis... he kept asking people where's Francis and 💀ing them when they didn't talk... but nobody knew who he was talking about!😂 He's the only one who knew that guy's real name. It's when he asked "where's your boss" that he finally got an answer. He 💀ed all those people for nothing. 😅😅

5:15 - No, Deadpool is his own standalone franchise in the Marvel comics. However, he is friends with Wolverine, Colossus, Spider-Man, and other heroes and has made guest appearances and cameos in countless Marvel franchises. The reason Wolverine is heavily referenced in this film is because Deadpool was also in the same Weapon X program as Wolverine and Deadpool knows Wolvey doesn't have a sense of humor and is annoyed by DP's silliness. They're also poking fun at the fact that Marvel tried to introduce Deadpool in The Wolverine (2009) which was an epic disaster (Ryan Reynolds also played Deadpool in that movie). And if you're wondering, yes Deadpool is just as silly, politically incorrect, raunchy, and juvenile, and has no filter in the Marvel comics.

Actually The Wolverine came out in 2013 and it's a pretty good movie except for the final fight. Deadpool appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

I was a comic book geek as a youngster but fell off for whatever reason, both DC and Marvel. Despite that there were always characters that stuck and resonated with me like Logan, Sabertooth, Venom, Hulk, Punisher among others. Especially Logan, had that badass persona with a dark past who crossed paths with so many and all the historical events he lived through and wars he fought. I wasn't introduced to Deadpool until much later and in some respects Im drawn to him for the couple similarities they share. They have that rogue/lonewolf mentality yet can be a team leader and they're both resilient as f***.

The most fun part of Deadpool (and She-Hulk, who did it first) are the 4th wall breaks to crack jokes with the audience. He and She-Hulk are the only 2 Marvel characters who actually do this on a regular basis - Deadpool does it because he KNOWS he's in a comic or movie, and She-Hulk does it for comedy. Ajax's sidekick "Angel Dust" played by Gina Carano was in "The Mandalorian"
