The story of how this movie got made is a real tale. To say this was a “Passion project” for Reynolds would be a massive undersell. He spent over a decade trying to get this movie made. The first Wolverine movie nearly put a nail in the coffin for Reynolds getting to do this, but he persevered and after some test footage “accidentally” got leaked and went viral this film got green lit by FOX. How the test footage got leaked remains a mystery to this day, but there’s a rumor that some who’s name rhymes with “Bryan Breynolds” may have been involved.

Small bit of trivia for you: the drydocked "ship" that they have the final fight scene on is actually one of the flying Aircraft Carriers from "Avengers" and "Captain America: Winter Soldier". So I'm an ecologist, and the flow on effects from an entire species being removed from our ecosystem would be far reaching and hard to specify, even if it's mosquitoes. First of all, it's only the lady mosquito that feeds on animals, they normally feed on flower nectar and act as secondary pollinators. They lay their eggs in water, so their larvae are often the primary source of food for small fish and other aquatic animals. Plus while they fly around, they are preyed upon by insectivores like birds, bats, other insects and spiders.
@huyxiun2085
@huyxiun2085 Жыл бұрын
I kinda of agree with you in general. HOWEVER... I read in some serious reviews (or maybe it just a summary of serious reviews, whatever) that IN THE SPECIFIC CASE of mosquitoes, maybe, just maybe, it could make sense to do it. Apparently they are mostly parasites which doesn't contribute that much to the rest. All of that you describe is probably true, it's just "not that important" since, e.g., the fish or others eating the larvas actually eat mainly other stuffs, same for the birds/bats/spiders. Also, pretty sure mosquitoes do not care about flowers and thus do not act as pollinator helpers, so, yeah, on that part, i disagree (but i'm not an ecologist either, you might be right). Of course the study itself remained a bit cautious, since it's actually impossible to be 100% sure it wouldn't be a problem to heradicate all of the mosquitoes. It was a serious question because, believe it or not, humanity could do that. Eliminate an entire specy, willingly (not by accident), even something as resilient and expended on earth. With DNA modifications and directed virus and other stuffs, it seems to be technically feasible, or at least research can work on it. Thus the topic of this review was to discuss: shall we? I believe it is extremely dangerous especially if we succeed and realize AFTER what the real use of mosquitoes was. Personnally, the fact that they are so annoying, or actually, dangerous and deadly, is quite the reason why we shouldn't do that... Follow me here: humans are the most dangerous and invasive and damaging specy on earth. Nobody doubt that. The main natural predator of humans is... there is none according to the correct definition, but exept humans, what kills the most humans are mosquitoes. If the most dangerous and invasive and parasite and damaging specy eliminate the second most dangerous and invasive and parasite and damaging specy on the planet, is that a good thing? I believe it wouldn't. But i also believe there is too many of us and that the best humans are dead humans, so, yeah, maybe not an universal point of view :p

Comedies actually have a big advantage over dramas in having heart wrenching moments land. Comedies get you invested in people so much quicker whereas tragedies have to work a lot harder to make you care about characters first. So the immediacy of jumping from the calendar girl bit to the cancer diagnosis, and the other cases of mood whiplash, is the filmmaker getting and keeping you engaged for the story he really wants to tell. The drama underneath is pretty simple, but the comedy is what glues it together for the full runtime.

Deadpool takes place in the new Timeline created at the end of Days of Future Past where pretty much all the events in X1, X2, X3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Wolverine never happened all. The X-Men still exist we just don't know how the events played out in this timeline and how similar or different they were to what we saw in the films. X-Men 2 would've changed a lot with X3 never happening. X-Men Wolverine most likely never happens and of course Origins as well. I imagine the X-Men went on a bunch of new adventures in this timeline we never saw which is a shame but nonetheless this is kind of a whole new start. Colossus is Fully CGI in this film voiced by Stefan Kapici who does a great job. So I haven't seen anyone point this out but the end battle takes place in front and on top of decommissioned helicarrier originally designed by Jack Kirby for the Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. serial in Strange Tales #135 (August 1965). The director for Deadpool has confirmed that it's not a S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier stating: "No, it's clearly not the Helicarrier. I just want to say for the record, there's a lot of groups in the Marvel universe who use flying combat platforms. It's not just the Helicarrier. A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) has some. It could have been anything but a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Because that would be outside of the purview of the Fox/Marvel arrangement." i personally think it's just a fun little nod or hint at groups like this existing in the Fox X-Men universe even though they can't mention them for legal reasons if the X-Men universe has massive fighting robots they could also have flying carriers as well. Bob the solider Deadpool recognises at the end battle is actually from the comics first appearing in Cable & Deadpool #38 (May 2007) and went by Bob, Agent of Hydra. He’s usually an antihero and a sidekick of Deadpool a former member of terrorist organisation Hydra but defected to help Wade Wilson, keeping his Hydra uniform which is where his name comes from. Because of legal reasons Bob couldn’t be apart of Hydra as they’re own by Marvel Studios who own most of Marvel while Fox only owns the rights to X-Men so they simply couldn’t mention Hydra at all. So instead Bob is apart of this random group but who knows Deadpool 3 has been confirmed to be apart of the MCU no idea how that will be explained but with Deadpool and X-Men now being owned by Marvel Studios they’re free to have Bob be apart of Hydra.

Charles found the Mutants in X-Men Origins which never happened instead he still found them one by one in the 1980s only not at the Military base. Logan was set free in the 1980s as well but by Jean. Apocalypse never showed up in the original universe which changes alot while Dark Phoenix happens in the 1990s instead of the early 2000s. X-Men First Class - 1960s X-Men Days of Future Past - 1970s X-Men Apocalypse - 1980s X-Men Dark Phoenix - 1990s Deadpool - Early 2010s Deadpool 2 - Mid 2010s New Mutants - 2020s Days of Future Past - 2022 Timeline is this excluding all the original movies. The X-Men were active in the 2000s we just haven't seen in in this new timeline.

Fun Fact: The credits pay homage to the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." You'll recognize the bathrobe, the hallway, and the wallpaper.

When Ryan is cracking jokes and says "Less angry Rosie O'Donnell" he had a string of jokes he tried out and on that one Gina actually punched him in the face. That ended up being the take they use cause it was perfect. He also apologized immediately afterwards.

So the story behind this movie is INSANE. Ryan Reynolds BEGGED Fox for a Deadpool movie for about 10 years. He would not stop asking. So they gave him a greenlight and a budget of $58 Million. This is a very small budget compared to most superhero movies. Iron Man got a $140M budget for comparison. Now Fox only gave the greenlight to literally shut him up. They were preparing for a box office bomb. They did not think this was going to go well. The movie nearly tripled its budget opening weekend, and Deadpool 2 was greenlit the next day. Now Deadpool 3 is in production. There is also one person that Ryan has been BEGGING to be in the Deadpool movies. Hugh Jackman. Now, Hugh Jackman has said no every time... so far. But Ryan Reynolds is nothing if not tenacious. It'll only be a matter of time. The Deadpool movies even being a thing is proof of that.

That intro was so absolutely wildly, randomly off-topic, that it actually fits perfectly with Deadpool's character. I couldn't help but crack up laughing at the coincidence of Simone doing something so randomly weird and yet, so strangely fitting. Number 2 is an absolute must as well.

Ajax is a greek god. The dishsoap is named after him. From google "The slogan for the original Ajax Powdered Cleanser was "Stronger than dirt!", a reference to the muscular hero Ajax of Greek mythology. The original slogan was also used for Ajax Laundry Detergent for its introduction in the beginning of the 1960s, advertised with an armed knight riding a white horse." From Wiki "Ajax (Aias) is the son of Telamon, who was the son of Aeacus and grandson of Zeus, and his first wife Periboea. By Telamon he is also the elder half-brother of Teucer. Through his uncle Peleus (Telamon's brother), he is the cousin of Achilles. The etymology of his given name is uncertain."
