The guy who tries to take full credit for the Deadpool character when he only created the design (& not the character), tried to take full credit of the 1st "Deadpool" film over Ryan & the writers when he literally only was credited for basically doing nothing & talked trash about them not making the 3rd Deadpool film then lied about not just doing that when they'd announced that Deadpool 3 is officially in pre-production & the 1st rated-r film of the MCU, just under the 20th Century banner included? Yeah, I'm really sick and tired of Rob Liefeld trying to take all the credit for merely creating a cheap uninspired rip-off of Deathstroke. Rob Liefeld only came up with the design and the name like you said, Fabian Nicieza wrote his initial character and background, and Joe Kelly later turned him into the fourth-wall breaking merc with the mouth we all know and love.

just a reminder, Deadpool didn't get good till it was the Ed McGuiness and Joe Kelly run. But that was when Spider-Man comics were rough to read and deadpool was a lot more fun. I honestly love Alan Moore's Supreme comics, even if it's another comic publisher, those comics were golden age style stories.

Joe Kelly DEFINED Deadpool. Liefeld drew a neat picture of Deathstroke and gave him wolverine's healing factor and spider-man's sharp tongue. Deadpool became original when the 1st ongoing series launched him into the limelight.

Fun interview, I like that Rob told some interesting story's about the industry in the late 80's. I purchased New Mutants 98 off the rack at my comic store and still have it. Like Rob said, the fans loved Deadpool from the start to the point where Marvel was like "we need him back in 2 issues from now" He was very popular back then. Sure he evolved, but Rob created him. I totally agree with Rob, Marvel writers were not utilizing Wolverine's healing factor to it's full potential. Rob used that and it is a huge characteristic what makes today's Deadpool fun to watch on the screen. Good job Rob, fun interview.

Can we just adress the fact that aside from design and name, Rob Liefeld really had nothing to do with creating the Deadpool we know and love today? Fabian Nicieza gave his initial backstory and set-up, and Joe Kelly made him the 4th-wall breaking merc with the mouth. All Rob Liefeld did was making a really boring generic Deathstroke rip-off, and that's it. Because in reality, Rob Liefeld always was creatively bankrupt and stole all of his ideas from better creators.

I have met Mr. Liefeld twice at the time of this writing and I have to say he is a lot of fun and I can see how it would be easy to be his friend. Massive respect for him and I have two comics with his signature on it, a 1991 printing of The New Mutants #98 and I bought Deadpool Nerdy Thirty the day it came out, and he was there to sign it. I feel it's somewhat awesome the two he has signed are the first Deadpool appearance comic and the latest DP comic, celebrating 30 years! I love your work, Rob Liefeld! Deadpool, Domino, Cable, Hawk, Dove, Shatterstar, Gideon, all of them!

Marvel! Can we get a hard boiled, whodunit, detective mystery series on Disney Plus? Starring----------------Howard the Duck!!?!???? Think of it: 1) He's already been seeded (Guardians I, II and Endgame) 2) He's a beloved, albeit lesser known, character 3) Gives you a chance to play in another genre; the "MCU Mystery" 4) We get to further explore space/foreign worlds, equaling more universe expansion 5) Nostalgia would hit many who enjoyed the 1980's Howard the Duck Movie. I created the Deadpool you know and love 35 years ago. It was created by me January of 1987. Rob had nothing to do with it at all. Fabian had nothing to do with it at all. They took credit for my work which they stole. Today I haven't heard from any of their lawyers, though I have spoken to Dave Altoff on the phone. Rob has done nothing on this interview but lie. How come there are no dates on any of his work? It's the first thing you're taught in school to put your name and date on your work. His work has no dates on it whatsoever. Don't you think that's kind of odd when you're working on a regular basis daily weekly monthly and you have no date? Sounds unreal to me.
