Rightfully so, it put Deadpool on the map. Deadpool wasn't in movies or TV like that before this movie so Nolan North really Kickstarted everything. (Recency bias may as well be a legitimate mental illness with the way you kids try to act it's the end all, be all) Deadpool live action was able to gain steam due to HulkVs and the Deadpool videogame. The fact a character like Deadpool could even have his own videogame is due to the immense popularity he had due to the HulkVs movie and Nolan North's portrayal of him. It's not anybody else's fault that you were most likely a little kind living under a rock and wasn't even allowed to watch HulkVs when it came out but the entire world fell in love with North's Deadpool and it was the first real piece of media for Deadpool on the silver screen. You attempted to rewrite history by saying the Deadpool movie is what brought the Deadpool craze when it's clear you probably didn't know Jack about Deadpool until the 2016, which is weird because Xmen Origins was out in 2009 with Reynolds being Deadpool as well.

@lancekemal8989 it's different with forever franchise characters since the second a writer changes and run concludes it's pretty much a soft reboot. So current she Hulk and Deadpool are handled with post Rick and Morty energy.

Meta humour has been around since the 80's in media. Which is way longer than I've even been alive. You may have just discovered it through Rick and Morty but it's been mainstream for a long time

You're probably right, but I guess people like it. This Deadpool is closer to the original Deadpool by his creator Rob Liefeld before a lot of his humour became focused around meta humour at the end of the 90's

I remember being 6 or 7 asking my pops "Dang, why is he so mean?" He responds, "That's Wolverine." He knew what he was talking about. Now that I've followed his story, it makes perfect sense. This along with the OG Xmen movies was my introduction to the character.
