Did you know these types of recording have a specific name? They're usually called "Efforts". So if you ever hear somebody say they're recording efforts, they will likely be making sounds for when their character is exerting themself.

I assume you're referring to Jackman doing the grunts in the studio? They do it on almost every movie since it's rarely possible to capture sound cleanly on set. Even the dialog is often recorded after the fact.

@@mikeb1705 Sometimes the sound recorded live on set is used, but a lot of times it can't be because of extraneous noise, or sometimes a director will want a different line read from the actor, and so the actor stands in a sound booth and says the dialog while matching his mouth movements on screen. They call it "looping", though I don't know the origins of the term.

I can't wait for the movie to be available to buy on BluRay/4K because I can't wait to see what the special features are gonna be. I want more of this film, and I wanna see every deleted scene, see if the rumors of there being an alternate ending are true, and obviously the blooper reel is bound to be hilarious! Even though I don't typically listen to the commentary of a film, but I am hopeful that Hugh and Ryan are in it, otherwise I'm gonna be super disappointed...these guys have such a great bromance, and any time they get together, the results are always hilarious and magical.
