I think Deadsy would have faired a lot better if they signed to a true independent label that had no ties to a major. The majors want instant hits by the end of your second album cycle or you're out. I am really hoping Elijah finishes the album he has been working on and we see a new deadsy release in 2019/20.

It was common knowledge for those who were part of their street promotions team back when Phantasmagore was being prepped for release. They (deadsy and their management) wanted to release the extra songs as bonuses depending on what format you were to purchase (cd or digital download, pre-order or regular purchase). But, only Colossus was released as a bonus. Strength of Mind was a leak. The others are still yet to surface.

DavidBellmoney Still Loves Deadsy when people ask straight up who is your favorite band I will say Deadsy because they at the time and still resonate with me each song gives off such a feeling and brings me back to specific moments in time in turn it’s like I’m channeling my younger self from those days so glad to hear new music is coming out!

Renn made it known that he was pursuing a career as a carpenter and leaving the band. I think he announced his intentions in late 2008 or early 2009, but yes, he is no longer affiliated as a member of Deadsy. Alec has been doing film scores and quite prolific with his works in that realm of music now.

I never said anything about Alec and Elijah parting ways. But, 6 years and no recording output is a strong indicator that the band as we know it, is defunct. Renn made it public and official that he was exiting Deadsy for good. The Trapezoids were Elijah and the Sales brothers (hunt and tony, who are former members of Tin Machine. Alec had nothing to do with that. Jenns is involved, but not quite clear to what degree. Elijah lives in germany now pursuing a visual arts career.

Really hope they make a new album. I've liked the demos I've seen. I had 3 copies of commencement and 5 copies of phantasmagore when they came out and from tours. Unfortunately I've lost them all with all the moving ive done over the years. Thankfully we have youtube so i can still listen to them!

Sadly, we may never hear any other songs from Deadsy. I am still hoping that the rest of the Phantasmagore songs that were unreleased, surface. Comforter Cave, Do You Want it All, Heaven and Earth, Acacia, and the full version of Dreamcrusher have yet to be released. Renn's gone, Alec is gone, Beast is a Chef, Ash and Carlton are now in Orgy.

I've read recently that Deadsy might get back together in 2014. Now it might just be a very cruel and stupid rumor, but at least it's something. I need to see them live at least once before I die..

That was rumor. I saw the same thing and after some digging, it turned out to be a hoax that somebody made. Sadly, at this point, it looks like Deadsy is still on hiatus.

Never seen them live. It's really strange how I become a fan actually. I hard of them way back in 99-2000. I saw their music video for Keys and absolutely mocked the shit out of it. I hated it. Safe to say they were forgotten that is for sure. Years later, I mean like 2010, the song popped into my head. I went on to KZbin and searched the song and I really really liked it. So much so, I was compelled to search other songs. From there I basically have a new favourite band. The unfortunate thing is they aren't together anymore. Something about their music is very different than any other I've heard. Lyrically he's a genius as far as I am concerned. He posted on Twitter that he was ready to make music again.. So I hope this is the start of something.

while 99% of that seems to be true, I don't think Alec and Elijah have ever officially parted ways. If the Trapezoids ever see the light of day it will be Jenns, Elijah and Alec with a possibility of Renn on the recordings, but he won't see any touring I don't think.

I've always had this Idea how I wanted modern music to sound. Guuitars tuned down to the max synths played intelligently and sampling technololy utilised to the Max. Legally of course. Obviously I'm a a fan of everything from nu metal to the early industrial music scene.
