I think one thing CCs focus on too much early game is those specific roles, and filling them with subpar champs. It makes sense at a certain point, but I see so many that waste time on champs that aren't going to stick around. What I mean by that, instead of using energy and resources to take Coffin Smasher to 5 star, using that to instead get another 6 star or T6 masteries on another champ is going to help you progress in CB more than Dec Atk for the early difficulties. Yes, Dec Atk is super important for UNM CB, but you're also most likely not going to be running Coffin Smasher by the time you can do UNM anyways.

We do. We get too creative and try reinventing the wheel. I will say coffin smasher can do unm and I've done so on my first ftp account, but it took a while to get there...certainly more than 3 months. I do it every time, but I swear 2026 I swear I'm going to ignore it all until I have 5 champs at 6* lol

Yeah not wrong. I ranked up CS almost on a whim the other night 🤣 and figured at worst I can feed him to someone else. Don’t plan on making him 6* for a good long while.

@@aarondavis8224 yeah, but even if you don’t need her to nuke, the ability lockout is really good. She’s a budget Warlord that you get for free.

The only rare I saw worth building that isnt already set aside in your vault is the sylvan guy, Flannan. I like him a lot. Good luck with the F2P challenge.

Wukong is great in difficult waves of doom tower, the aoe smack with stealing buffs and block buffs helps the buffing waves in high stages of doom tower

@DeadwoodJedi yes I wouldn't say he's great for early progression. But once an account gets to mid game level is when he shines. The great part about him is you don't need books to take advantage of his best pve skills.

I would take a serious look at Boughsmith Flannan. Def based so easier to keep alive with an aoe dec spd, 2x. a1 hitter with each hit a 50% chance to stun (when booked) and that inc acc in the early game is very useful, nice little extra turn chance with 3+ spd down placed is nice too. Great early FW champ, and all-round good control.

@@DeadwoodJedi He's a solid champ, especially as a rare with an aoe big spd down. Not many champs with that skill. He should do some solid work at 50. Hopefully, he will give you a little boost

I took the high shield guy and I don’t regret it. I feel like for a first three month account he’s got good utility across more areas. I’m definitely struggling more than some in arena but outside of that no regrets.

@@DeadwoodJedi not true, he'll get back up before the clan boss hits and get a turn. because he comes back after 3 of your champs go. so after the 4th goes wukong gets to go. i used to do that in my early cb team. even if he dies the turn before the stun, he'll still come back and take a turn and be there to take the stun.

Tagoar is the most easy champ to gear in this challange... i went farm on lvl 1 nightmare for 6 stars pieces... took 2 days but now he is 6 star HP with HP% and speed on the boots... so easy!!

There's zero chance any one of you will ever be getting Marius I can promise you that 😅 with the way 3v3 currently is, you will be blocked off just before gold. That's where all the whales stop by because there's no competition for them there and the points are acceptable for CVC.

Git gud... :P Just kidding obviously, the Gold 3v3 barrier is very real and i'm sure something plarium is looking at (so 6-18 month wait? haha), only advice i can give to clear that hurdle is (1) build really strong teams and (2) push hard for one week and (3) do so during CVC - people love using poor 1 man teams and so you can build a solid lead early in the week and then just have to maintain...

@DeadwoodJedi that is a fantastic idea, usually what happens to me is I push into the green and the last day I get piled on by teams entirely filled with 5 and 6* souls with mythicals and gear I cannot compete with. But as a f2p I'm quite strong, I've done everything in the game, the only blockade I really have is the Marius missions. I'm sure you could probably figure something out I haven't thought of for teams. You've got that analytical mind for this! Anyway thank you always for the help you give this community.

to me alice is absolute trash, she can't be built by a newbe, and when you are mid or late game, most of the time you already have better champ than her.

I hear what you're saying and agree she has some serious issues using her for most accounts. However, if you don't have a Yumeko or Warlord I think she can fill a significant void in your roster construction. Even just using her reset skill can do so without books - 75% will mess up most enemies and arena only need to use once....but to your point she'll get zero run on my main. Also, hard to hate on free ;)

Mordecai is the best promo code to use for new accounts, especially with Alice as a login, if you go Athel you then have 3 sacred order champs and will get so much good gear from the forge as a result you will surpass any other method. Also you have a hp burner for the tricky bosses that's super hard to get randomly which could cause months of blockers for you progression wise.

Think he’s pretty decent in a few areas, but yeah, way less usefully universally. Won’t say I regret the choice, but perhaps would have gone a different direction if I had to do it again…of course maybe then I’d just be struggling in a totally different way!!

Wukong is great in doom tower and hydra. Aoe buff steal with an aoe block buffs comes in clutch in many areas of this game, plus he self revives...
