Lisa, Kris lip reads, yes. Just me and Kris here, so no ASL interpreting. After meeting Kris, I would really LOVE to learn some ASL, so I can communicate with him in it next time we meet. He's a great guy. :)

Very inspiring :-) It might have been interesting to know what motivated Kris to learn Icelandic in the first place, or whether he has learned other language(s) in this way before.

Thanks for this inspirational video. I'm fascinated by languages & have just completed my first year in a BSL degree. Did Kris lip read or were your words interpreted into ASL during this video?
@GiuliaSci8811 жыл бұрын
So Richard do you speak any sign languages?I am really into the BSL right now, studying on my own and try to go to social events to practice and get the most of this experience and of course of the language.I find BSL fascinating as much as other languages and this is probably because we Italians very much like to move our hands and communicate with facial and body expressions.I believe Kris is a real good inspiration and actually this make me feel like I really have to study more BSL!

Hey, Kris and I became friends online a few years ago, we talked a lot. I switched social networks and ended up losing contact with him. Today I remembered him and when trying to search I found your video. Do you know if he is still on Instagram or Facebook? I couldn't find it. :(

Why are you learning Icelandic? Not being rude, just genuinely curious. I know English, some ASL, Spanish, and German... what are all the languages you know?
@SpeakingFluently11 жыл бұрын
Joe, believe it or not I paid for this course after a year and a bit of getting money from Google ads. I put the money to one side and funded it that way. :)

How was Icelandic? I imagine it'd be something like cramming Swedish vocab into German grammar. I take it isn't a very difficult language for someone who knows both?

If this doesn't prove that anybody can learn a language ... then what does?
