Deaf e hailing driver submits memo to PMO over inaction on his assault case

DEAF e-hailing driver Ong Ing Keong, who was allegedly assaulted by a police escort in May, has handed over a memorandum to the prime minister over the failure to prosecute the policeman for the assault.
Ong was accompanied by Lawyers for Liberty, representatives from the Malaysian Deaf Advocacy and Well-being Organisation (Dawn), as well as NGOs and human rights activists.
Ong was summoned to Bukit Aman on June 5 to assist in a disciplinary inquiry into the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 for causing voluntary hurt. Ong was questioned for four hours, accompanied by lawyers and an interpreter.

You made your point already, Mr Ong. Realistically, do you expect the PM to do anything? The offender belongs to a special group of bodyguards, likely untouchable by the law. Just live with it and move on. Look forward to better days ahead.
