Interesting, I'm deaf too and from Finland, but I hear only hearing aids in both ears. I keep always heavily equipments and clothes presses under 80 pounds in work and freetime. I can run faster and climbing faster as monkey. I don't scare fires or high top places. I was work in metal factory with smithing too hot tempurature and low oxngen keep breathing. I will say be respect for you, Matt Gillmore the Deaf Firefighter !

I wear dual hearing aids and sign, too. I’m hard of hearing, so I can speak (my wife & kids don’t sign because I can speak). But signing is such a natural part of me and communicating in sign is something I miss sometimes.

Deaf empower! Deaf can doing anything except can't hear! Deaf are dependable reading a lot! Deaf can go become are: Doctors, EMT, engineer, and I glad Deaf guy is became Mayor in PA!! Deaf can do a lot workmanship! myself Deaf
