I'm not sure Deaf Ninja's CI has anything to do with his being more hearing. Lots of culturally Deaf people get CIs for the sake of music and whatever. I think the taboo isn't as strong as it once was, mostly BECAUSE people realize that a CI doesn't, and shouldn't make you hearing. I like the CI. By the way, original Deaf Ninja didn't have an FM system, he had a really old-school hearing aid. :-)

Really? I wear contacts, but that doesn't mean I have an entirely different, rich, meaningful culture, completely unique as opposed to people with 20/20 vision and a beautiful, COMPLETE language which is at least as complex as English. You clearly know nothing about the Deaf--not *hearing-impaired*--community. It's audists like you who make me ashamed to be hearing. Austin--GREAT video, keep it up, and until every international video is required to have English subtitles, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!

"Media" isn't limited to both video AND audio. I think these videos have a rightful place here, moreso than some of the other mindless ridiculous stuff you can find on here. This man is an amazing storyteller. I've never seen someone tell a story so clearly with such description. You're being overly critical of something only because you don't understand it. Open your mind a bit.

(ASL MODE: ON) BAI! You awesome champ best! (ASL MODE: OFF) I want to point out an error. In your setting, you used 'h' handshape for a narrow bridge. Then, after the transformer has flipped over and stood on the bridge, you used '5' hand shape for the multiple lanes traffic from both sides. You ended up having many car lanes on a narrow bridge. :-p Hope you do not mind this correction. But, other than that, you indeed are amazed! I am looking forward to your many stories!!!

(to dduxliger) Who made you the youtube police? This is a video sharing website. Use your imagination--I don't know ASL very well, but it's visual language and you can understand some of it just by watching his movements. I think it's great that he's posting these on youtube and I hope he continues.

I'm hearing, but I'm learning ASL in college. I'm just starting to learn, so I'm not very good. Are you talking about Team Fortress? I think you were referring to the Spy sometimes. My friends love that game! I like your videos! You should upload more!

I need a voice interpreter. I understood the first one fine, but the second one was definitely way over my head, I felt like a guy who barely knows English listening to the most eloquent speaker ever. As for what I saw, it was a visual smorgasbord.

i would love to expalain it to you but you realy should learn asl to understand. asuming you are in the us you should go to your local comunity collige and take a course or two then come back and watch the vid again.

He's HEARING? Maybe he's a CODA, then? (has Deaf parents) I agree. I've never seen a hearing person with such excellent skill with something I would consider pure ASL. I've never seen details and classifiers so rich.

If you watch it closely and maybe over a few times, you can sorta tell what he is saying. I liked it, but yet again, it could use some subtitles in a different video just to see exactly what he is saying.

I had the same problem my first time through. But here's a hint: when the flying machine comes under the bridge and then pops out the other side, it begins to transform. This is the battle of the Deaf Ninja and the Transformer. Once you understand the two masks, then the rest of the battle makes perfect sense. It's brilliant use of classifiers and spatialization.

Then why did you type "deaf" in search if you don't like it? KZbin never say anything about the audio that is required to use. Why do you ever bother to comment on deaf video anyways?

Wow. that is some pretty amazing ASL storytelling. SOO visual. I LOVE it. (even if I don't like transformers or many video games... feel like I'm almost in one here) :-) Almost reminds me of what those old Godzilla movies were trying to do if they had the technology. AWESOME Austin!
