I often think of my fellow autistic people in Gazza,especially those who are non verbal and with a limited capacity to understand. They must be going through hell twice over. Wow, so he doesn’t hear the bombs but he can feel them and see the destruction of life & property. What a weird sensation that must be. I imagine he doesn’t suffer from the same trauma bc he can’t hear the bombs - fireworks sounds, for example, traumatize vets with PTSD and animals. Edit: to clarify, I’m certainly not saying he doesn’t have trauma just bc he’s deaf. *SEEING* the destruction of life & property would traumatize anyone. Also, being deaf is truly a handicap when you live in a war zone bc unless, there are other ppl around, you won’t know to RUN if there’s a flare out of your range of vision. (It should be obvious these are the thoughts of someone who’s never been in a war zone so feel free to correct any ignorant parts.)
