I literally had to take something to be able to play the first 3 minutes of this without tiring out. No more black metal or black metal influenced covers

You're an inspiration, man. I get really excited seeing your videos in my feed haha. Also do I think there are a lot more Gojira tracks more suitable for piano (meaning: not losing their power when being adapted), though I'd love to see any Gojira track translated into piano music! Oh and Leviathan and CAFO are sick as fuck. It is beyond me, man. Like I said, a real inspiration. Keep it up! :D

I have two question Sam! First how long does it usually on average take you to put a song into perfect translation?! Second have you considered Doing any gojira songs... Born in winter would be perfect and plenty of other of there song!
@jsabbott08 жыл бұрын
Usually it's about 2-3 weeks of messing around & deciding whether I want to do the song. Then it's about 3-4 weeks of practice, with the last week being particularly intense (I turn the camera on & do anywhere from 10-40 takes). There are some exceptions (Leviathan took about 3 months, CAFO took almost a year). I rarely get it to "perfect" & usually just publish, warts & all, after I can spend a day or so listening to the track without regrets. Gojira is a Top 5 metal band for me, but so drum-driven & texture-driven that it's hard to translate well. I did Oroborus a few years back. I'll do another one at some point (Born in Winter is my favorite song of theirs that isn't on From Mars to Sirius). Thanks for listening!

Dude thats intense!! You really should compose some originals then bandcamp! Your talent is unprecedented! And I completely agree about the their music! I can see born in Winter or Backbone working possibly.
