It’s brought me happiness. When I find new music that’s really good, really original. Music that paints pictures and puts you in a different world, I become enamored with it. It feels like being a child again. A new world opens up and I get a little bit more hope for humanity as a whole. It’s sad that the vast majority of people don’t even know what actual music is. They think they do, but it’s just ‘jingles’ . I could go on and on, I won’t. Everybody here is here because we know and appreciate what real, good and real good music is.

This song captures Grief like no other. I once lay in bed listening to this song on mushrooms, and began bawling as I realized its about the loss of George's mother and felt the emotional weight of that loss. It prompted me to realize how much my own mother means to me and how much Grief I'll feel when she passes on herself. So grateful George wrote this.

I listen to tons of different music but I left the metal genre behind a few years ago because I wasn't finding something to somewhat fit my emotions in that music anymore. When I discovered Deafheaven I was in a delicate moment of my life and I cried my heart out because it was exactly what I needed. And this album is even better, it doesn't wash away all the dirt off my life but tracks like "Glint" make me feel a little bit confortable with that dirt.

The first part when it really explodes into the black metal section reminds me a bit of the album Autumn Eternal by Panopticon. They're more standard black metal than Deafheaven, but mix in post-rock elements as well as American folk and bluegrass. Really great stuff.
