Someone on Facebook was selling a platinum GameCube with 2 controllers and the Gameboy Player attachment for $50 locally. Kinda regret not messaging them immediately, because the next morning it was gone. Pretty good deal although I doubt they had the start up disc with the player.

You can get the stickers off pretty easily i just empty the case and use dish soap and scrub it with a toothbrush

I just got 13 GameCube games for $20 but mostly kids type games and some sports. Traded about 4 for Pikmin 2 but it was the English/Spanish case. Is there a real difference between cases and price?

English / Spanish cases I have not come across before. As long as it plays on a NTSC GameCube I don't think it would matter to me much personally

That's a nice bundle you bought. I wouldn't have turned it down for $180 either because I need all of those games in my Gamecube collection except for Sonic Mega Collection. Gamecube games and bundles are harder to come by now, even the local retro stores best Gamecube games have all been bought up in my local area. Lately I've been buying brand new PS4 and Switch games for the most part. I recently purchased Cadence of Hyrule, real Myst, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Resident Evil 2 PS4, Doom 64 for the Switch and PS4, Shantae, Shantae Risky's Revenge, Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero Ultimate Edition, Shantae and the Seven Sirens (Asia/English), Kamen Rider Premium Sound Edition (Japan/English), a clean and scratch free fatboy PS2 console with a Logitech wireless controller and Zone of Enders, Spiderman 2, Crash Wrath of Cortex, Tekken Tag Tournament, and ATV Offroad Fury 2 for $40 from a friend.

Nice collection and good find. Not sure if I would say the set would be worth $500. Haven't played any of the games you got mainly the higher promoted ones like Mario Sunshine, Smash Bro, Luigi Mansion, etc. Three years back (2018) purchased a bunch of GC consoles like the Platnium, Indigo, and Black for $8 each with a 70% working. I love the Gamecube and it looks great. With most Wii being backward compatible with gamecube games along with playing Wii games, most people might opt for the Wii.

Get the model you want. Not just in terms of color but the back of the system can have different outputs. Make sure the cords are authentic and Nintendo brand. I prefer getting the console that you can take the lids jewel out of as some models don't have that option. Lastly, just make sure they test the console with games and provide video if possible of it working. The platinum silver consoles scratch easily.

I stopped actively collecting about 2 years ago and I just recently started again. I've noticed a significant 10-20% increase in all retro gaming systems and games. As well as at least double or triple the amount of people who are trying to collect consoles and games. My collection has increased in value and I'm wondering should I buy all the desirable collectable games at market value now instead of waiting for deals. They are harder to come by now and there's a lot more people who are quicker to it than me.

The big AAA titles are so expensive for the GameCube, some over $100. The lockdown really spiked gaming prices. If I get a game without the manual, it's a bit annoying yes. But I don't actively go hunting for it. If I find it though, I will pick it up for sure.

Anyone have a good resource for telling the ideal ediition of a game for collecting? Like I have a 2 copies of Double Dash, one says "best seller" on it, and the other doesn't, both black label. Also 2 black label copies of megaman anniversary, one says "Ten games included" on the front and the other doesn't, how Can I figure out the most desirable version to keep?

Not sure about the Mega Man one, but generally original copies without “best seller” or “greatest hits” labels are worth the most. black label first copies before they were re released as best sellers. This goes for every console. You’ll sometimes see “players choice” too which is a re release

I'm still jealous about you finding such killer deals, man! Go!Go!Hypergrind and ChibiRobo are gonna be a pain in the arse to collect for a decent price nowadays, tho. I still remember wanting ChibiRobo back in 2013, when It wasn't that high in demand and the Gamecube was still kinda cheap to collect for. I ended up getting the GameBoy Player instead, what might've been a better Investment, idk. Anyways, hope you'll find both games for cheap someday, Lithium. ;P The best of greetings from Austria

big zatch bell fan here, there's two games on gamecube (that got localized into english), of the two mamodo battles is a traditional fighting game that's less rare, mamodo fury plays more like replicating the battle style in the anime. fury on the gamecube is a lot rarer compared to the ps2 version (i'm guessing it got a much lower print run, the game was ps2 only in japan), i had difficulties finding a copy that was less than 40 dollars
