Interesting Joe, I also had checked his own Icahn Enterprise performance and it has not outperformed well (along with other hedge fund stock price such as Greenlight and Pershing), but he kind of highlighted companies spending more on buybacks and dividends and it can't last overtime. About AIG, that's completely out of my circle of competence. Thanks though.

There is a concept called Time Value of Money, so deducing your money earlier is the same as having more money.

You’re able to write off your investments immediately or at an accelerated rate vs GAAP depreciation schedules...in other words if you invested in capex your able to write it off for tax purposes immediately...but you have those assets producing cash flows for 20-40 years
