I have worked here at Schumacher Chevrolet of Livingston. The first car I sold to myself was a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS back in April of 2006. Since then I sold myself the following vehicles!! 2005 Corvette, 2007 Corvette, 2012 Cruze, 2017 Volt, 2018 Volt, 2019 Bolt EV, 2022 Bolt EUV, 2024 Corvette, and now a 2025 Equinox EV

Dave, this was a great video, very informative and entertaining as well! I’m glad to see that you’ve traded in the Bolt for an Equinox EV. It’s a great upgrade and I did just that back in July 2024 with my Bolt and I couldn’t be happier. The lack of CarPlay is not an issue for me and it doesn’t take long to get used to Google built in. After you’ve driven the Equinox for a month or so, it would be great to hear your thoughts on the vehicle, with your likes and dislikes of it.

Solid upgrade. Chevy has nailed the styling of the evs so far. Admittedly out of the 2, I like the blazer’s styling more but the equinox with awd is gonna be good for the winter we’ve been having in the northeast so far. As an apartment dweller, evs aren’t as too accessible for me and I’d rather wait for the switch to nacs and a faster charging battery. My hopes for the future is that Chevy makes an ev sedan with the impala name. Also that they bring Lakeshore blue to them. Bar none the best blue I’ve seen on a car.

My Bolt EUV is 2 years old today. Not a single issue. I love it and I love the low cost of ownership. I also appreciate how easy it is to park and fit in small places when I'm in the city. When I need to haul stuff I just my wife's Rivian R1S. No way would I want to go bigger. I plan to run this vehicle thru its entire battery warranty

You should have had to “talk to your manager” before setting up the deal. 😂 The Equinox is very tempting but we still owe quite a bit on our Bolt EUV. It has also oddly become like a member of our family. For all of its limitations, like the slow DC fast charge times, I think my wife would be really mad if I traded in our car “Gordon.” We do like road tripping and I’ve done several long, slow, trips in Gordon, so we might consider trading our second car for an Equinox EV. I see a lot of them around Atlanta where I live.

I did similar with my Bolt EUV. I was planning to hang onto it longer, but with the uncertainty of the market, I made a move to a 2024 Blazer EV RS Rear Wheel Drive a week after the election. I didn't want to risk the loss of the tax credit especially at point of sale which I took advantage of, but even more so the tariffs which I believe will significantly increase the pricing across GM's EV portfolio. I ran through a lot of the same thought process. The Blazer feels a lot better built than the Bolt and solid. The software on the Bolt EUV was better and less quirky though. That's nothing to do with lack of Carplay or Android Auto, but everything to do with random glitches and software anomalies. Even fully updated. By the way, the lack of Pandora built into the infotainment is sorely missed by me too. It isn't a great experience having to rely on the phone, and the voice commands can't control it well either. I hope Pandora develops a Google built-in app soon for it. For the first time in over a decade, I've switched music providers to KZbin Music and have been pretty happy so far, but it's still not the same or as good.

We’re so excited a little nervous our first EV we’re very excited so it’s gonna be awesome. We’re gonna have some adventure driving in the Pennsylvania soon six hours at least once a month to see my stepdaughter so that should be fun. Gotta get that EV go that you talk about all the time too. We’re gonna ask the dealer about it tonight. And remember Dave for an upstate New York Impressed with GM my first Chevy two and GM car ever in my life that we’re gonna own.😊😊

I bought my 2023 Bolt EUV for $32k, did not qualify for the tax rebate, and now Carmax is giving me $20k and Carvana around $21k. I can't get any new EV unless I add at least $15k. Nothing wrong with the Bolt though (except that I had a really bad experience recently when the battery went bad and the dealership close to my home gave me a run around for 50 days before I got my car back; horrible service experience that makes me think twice buying another GM vehicle). I have two Tesla and so far no issues. So, anyways, I would love to get Equinox EV (despite my recent bad experience) and trade-in my Bolt but without that $7500 rebate that I don't qualify for, I will have to spend a bunch of money to get that when I sell or trade Bolt in.

The Bolt was leased, I believe. The dealership, in that case, has to purchase the vehicle from Dave (actually the leasing company) in order to clear the title. Not knowing the terms of the lease, it must have been such that he had some equity left in it. We did that with a Subaru Outlook last year that had low mileage and the dealer wanted it. Just sold it without a trade in. We had gone in to just end the lease and let them take it, but the dealership wanted it to be able to sell it to one of their customers. It was the only way they could get it.

I purchased the Bolt outright so I didn't have a payoff on it. I simply took all the money back and started fresh with the Equinox EV.

I have to completely disagree that someone can get more for their Bolt than they paid for it. We just traded our 2yr old Bolt with 13.000 miles on it and lost $12,000 from original msrp that we paid. So, maybe because you as a GM employee got rebate after rebate you should NOT tell the general everyday Joe they can get more for their Bolt than they paid. This is TOTALLY UNTRUE. And there was no $7500 rebate at the time we bought in Dec 2022.

Of course not everyone is going to get every rebate. As far as the GM employee rebate, I'm not sure how he gets that. I work at a Chevy dealership and I can't get it, because I work for that dealership (the owner of the dealership) not GM directly.

You have to keep in mind he got crazy good rebates, from being an employee as well as fed credit and jersey had a credit and he did not have to pay sales tax at the time either as that was a perk of buying an electric vehicle in New Jersey. So he had a lot of things in his favor. So yeah while the value went down you have to keep in mind that his overall purchase price was really low compared to another person or state. I can see where he would have some equity in his bolt. You can go back and watch his video from when he bought the bolt and he talks about what he paid.

Maybe you all could help me and my wife were first time EV owners picking up the car tonight red equinox. EV question is when we go to Pennsylvania where we go there’s not many fast chargers around and the only option we would have is to use the extension cord and run in the garage, but we’re having conflicting reports so that’s not safe. Some people say it’s OK to do it. What’s the real story cause we’re gonna ask the dealer tonight to her that’s the one thing we’re nervous about I mean we’re moving to an apartment complex separately in about a month maybe chargers there so that won’t be a problem But in Pennsylvania we go once a month with the charge before we get there at some point anyway there’s chargers in Erie itself, but the little town we’re going to where we spend you know the weekend is it OK to use an extension cord for that one night or all the house go on fire we have things to worry about with the car go on fire Dave if you could help us or somebody else with knowledge because you can completely report more nervous Picking up the car tonight again. NOD you got the gray not red my bad good luck with yours too like I said before.

I drove a Blazer RS and it feels like a Camaro. Same dash and engine. It was too big. I like the styling on the new Equinox RS, it looks more like a Chevy. But that doesn't apply to either EV.

The Blazer RS with a red interior is very nice. However, the lack of Apple Car Play is disappointing. The rear window is small, which reduces visibility. Love the dash/instrument cluster.

Loved the two perspective way you make the video. I have to admit I did look to trade in my Bolt EV for Equinox EV but that $7500 carrot is not available to me for two more years, I think. If you said your trade in value was more than what you paid. Hmmm... The other bad part is I live in NE Ohio but if I lived closer, you would be my salesperson.

Dude I feel the sadness of trading a car I traded my custom ordered 2023 wrangler Sahara for a 25 Honda trail sport due to a growing family so it had to happen but man I haven’t heard anyone talk about the sadness lol
