Dealing With a Stubborn Fork Damper Bolt on a Suzuki van van RV200

Why does Suzuki not just create a hex head for that bolt? What kind of crazy engineer came up with that idea and the tool requirement? Blame management. Anyhow, I had the same issue and the 19mm socket did it for me and my beloved 2017 RV200 VanVan. Thanks for the info. Made my day!

I am actually having the same problem on a Yamaha 400 majesty scooter...like wow, it JUST WON"T COME OUT~! And since the insert is inside, how do you figure out the size needed to undo it? I may have to give up and take it in and let them fix the darn thing!LOL Cheers and thank you for the video, at least I know I did not break anything! Whew!

The service manual should have a part # for the tool needed but getting it and what it may cost along with the cost of a manual may end up more than just taking it to a shop. Good luck and hope you get it worked out!

Having trouble with a MT-07 damping rod. I got it losen but now it just spins inside my forks. Tired compression on the fork while on impact. No luck & I stopped as I really don't wanna strip anything. Any ideas?

You may need the actual damper holding tool for that fork. I'm not sure if you have our manual for that bike (which includes tech support) but I'll put a link to it below. @@Cyclepedia Hi, I managed to get both forks off! WOW heat is 1000000% your friend. I put everything inside the forks - spring, washer, spacer cap. Then I proceeded to heat with a heat gun on the lowest setting. Did that for 10 mins, then on carpet I turned it upside down. Put alot of pressure on the fork. And the bolt came undone with no issues!

I've been all over the internet leaving questions and comments. Sorry this isn't related to this video but looking for help. Short story I need to fix 4th gear on a Honda rancher 420. 2010 and was looking for any help. Or if you've ever been into one. Might try calling?
