Hi Adam, let me get this straight, if I enter a trade with a sell (sell = bid ) I have to calculate from the ask price ( buy = ask) where to put my stop loss and take profit and vice versa. But if the spread is to big it will take me out before I reach my goal

Thank you for the sharing, Adam. Plesse do help me clear up my confusion though. In your 11 pips SL and 22 pips TP e.g., the actual SL calculation you showed was 10 pips instead of 11. And if my TP were 22 pips, it would be the price before factoring the spread. Wouldn't my actual R be < 2? Should we use the candlestick prices for SL and TP calculation and simply add 1 pip (if that's the spread) for actual selling price we input in broker platform, or should we use the actual price we input into broker platforms as the 1R, 2R price level?

Also, the bid and ask price I see in the main candlestick chart is different from the quotes when I open an order for Halifax pro demo account. Is this additional spread in the quotes (when I open the orders window) due to it being a demo account, or are there any other reasons for that? The demo account wouldn't be of any use if that's the case. Or are there any settings I'm missing out on?
