Hi Josh, I'm glad you are getting a hold on what you are going through. I am affected with PTSD and have been going to single and group therapy for many years and I wish I didn't have to be on medication but, I do. I take medication to sleep and not have nightmares of Vietnam and for my exposure to Agent Orange. As far as negative people go, they actually help in your recovery by showing you who/what you don't want to be. Just keep on being you. Take care and thanks for sharing.

Hang in there Josh. I've been through a lot of these things too. When we moved here 12 years ago, I had been taking ambien sleep medication every night fo 6 years. The day I left NC, I tossed that pill bottle in the trash and drove away. Our journey hasn't always been easy, but thats just life. Ive just recently moved out of several years of anxiety by learning what set it off, accepting the symptoms and facing it down. I also quit news, and the Zuckerverse. I will tell you, its possible to heal. I'm probably old enough to be your mom, so some of this is just age perspective. I'll say the same to you as well; YOU'RE AWESOME!!! ❤

Josh you are an amazing young man. I never believed depression was a real thing I truly thought people could "snap out" of it if they chose. January 20th 2017 I lost my only child, he was just 19 years old. Depression is real and it sucks. If suicide ever crosses anyone's mind reading this PLEASE talk to someone!

This was an honest, courageous, and uplifting video. To see and hear how you’ve walked this path is empowering for those in a dark place. God said he would be with us when we went thru the water and fire - not if we went thru them but when we did. I try to remind myself of that daily, especially on the days when it’s just hard to even get out of bed. Thank you and may God hold you close as he walks with you.

Well Josh you did manage to make a depression video happy because you found a way through and are sharing that experience! I have always believed that your job will enslave you if you allow it. Kind of like the “Golden Handcuffs” I spoke about in one of my recent videos. Same thing happens to people who win the lottery. ANYWAY, when I first found your channel, I subscribed because I liked the difference with your channel. I think I subbed on a stump talk or the snow shovel video. But ain’t nobody perfect. And no reason in the world you have to be. Get away from negative people is fantastic advise though. Including family! I am glad whatever happened brought you and your family to Alaska though! 🧡😉

Thank you for the video. Depression was bad in my life between the ages of 20 and 35. It destroyed any of my plans to try to go to college. Eventually my body changed somehow, and I outgrew the really serious depression bouts. I was able to function fairly well and succeed in my work. Depression started to creep back in my life when I turned 45ish. I was putting myself through night school at the time. The long and the short of it is, I setup a study area in the basement and added 4 4foot florescent fixtures clustered together (8 bulbs) and lamped them with 'Full Sprectrum' daylight bulbs. Yes, it is sometimes good to go overboard. What a difference! It was like being in full sunlight in the middle of Jully! What an uplift. I later found when I added radiant heat, a small gas heater, my symptoms went away. With repeated exposure I keep the blues away. For me it was Not a mental condition but a Chemical/Physical condition which was tamed. I am now 67, and when I feel it coming, I know what to do.

Josh, if anything, this video is very uplifting and you are very brave to discuss this very personal part if you. I have family members who struggle with this and it is a very serious subject that so many people take lightly. Thank you for sharing and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and sharing how debt has a physical toll on us too. I'm so glad to know you're doing better. You and your family are great people who reach out to help others and I really appreciate it. The kids and I have struggled with depression since my amazing hubby passed away. When I realized it I started watching youtube. I found a couple in Svalbard which is the most Northern city in the world. I forget her name but her dog's name is Grim. She's great. I've used many of the recommendations recommended and it has helped us here in TN even. I've also found out our vit D levels are nonexistent and in single digits (we use 100spf sunblock year round as we're almost reflective we're so white and cancer runs on mine and my hubby's side.) Dr recently upped our vit D to 50k IU a week and recommended 1000 a day of GABA which is a natural supplement as standard meds haven't worked well for us and caused a ton of bad side effects. We are looking forward to feeling better and moving to Alaska soon. Oh, and based off of recommendations from the Swedish vloggers I've bought some led Christmas lights for inside the house, and I bought a bunch of 70% off candles after Thanksgiving. We've had lots of pumpkin spice going over Christmas but it's really been cozy and helpful. Plus, after using them I'm planning to fill them with DIY candle wax. Lighting those candles and using those battery powered Christmas lights that have a timer have actually helped with my insomnia. I'm hoping to find more of them on clearance to put up andmake the living room, kitchen and dining room cozier since wer'e mainly in those rooms. We as a family feel warmer too with them on. My middle said there was a study that showed warmer toned lights also help with mood so there's medical proof that we need more connection with the light in more ways than one. Happy New Year ya'll and thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. I am so glad you were able to find a happy place💕 I went to the hospital for what turned out to be an anxiety attack but they blamed it on my thyroid meds🙄 I googled my symptoms when I got home. I found a chart comparing heart attack to anxiety attack and realized the moving sharp chest pains were an anxiety attack and NOT a heart attack and it certainly wasn't my thyroid meds that I have been on for decades. Thankfully, I was able to find a natural item that reduced my anxiety significantly. 🙂

Good video, thank you for your honesty. This is a tuff subject that needs more attention. I to battle with both. I just got diagnosed with a life long condition that I have had my hole life. To think it will never go away is very hard. Not giving up is even harder. I will say knowing the lord created me this way. Is also hard on my faith. I will say tho, there is a reason and when God reveals why there will be joy. No meds by the way and even if I wanted to I can't. There is no treatment for ASD. There is alot of good that can come out of my condition. God be the glory.

What an awesome video. I have sooo much I want to say, but im going to try and keep this short..lol. I had such a similar story to yours. I was completely agoraphobic at one point in my 20's. I HATE taking meds. I think (in my humble and uneducated opinion) that my depression was a side effect of the anxiety . They diagnosed me (at that time it was still called manic depression) and I would say, of course im depressed, I am afraid to leave my house. When I got my anxiety under control (as much as you can and it was a long road) the depression was magically better. My coping methods for panic attacks. 1. be careful how you speak to yourself, dont say "what if". 1. Sing out loud. it regulates your breathing. 3. Relax your shoulders, fists and jaw. 4 always have something on you that calms you, mine is a bottle of water. 5, If I am having a panic attack,, I will say it. For whatever reason, saying it out loud takes away its power. 6. Prepping. I was born a prepper, I think because I was born with anxiety..lol. These are mine, I hope it helps someone. If you ever want to talk to someone who has been through it, you are welcome to email me!!! Ok my hopes of keeping this short are done...lol.
