I’m here because I enjoy your content. Always failed to stick with martial arts while younger, and now middle-aged and less flexible. Your exercises help. Your quirky humour helps. And it’s your space, your rules. 💪

I love this. People think they can just act however they want online. It's so toxic and especially difficult for us women. There's this mentality in martial arts that says you're just "playing at being warriors" unless you're a member of the military or law enforcement. It's truly demoralizing and I'm really sick of it because as a woman, I wonder if I'm going to be walking into a warzone every time I walk out the front door. It's demotivating and makes me just not want to participate in karate anymore. Thank you for making a difference. I'm still looking for motivation to go back to karate, but it's really hard right now.

Haters will only act tough on social media. They're too scared to tell you in front of your face.

I'm not an online personality- so these are things I would not have thought of. But I think there's a lesson here for the how we can consider our daily lives. Don't feed the trolls. Love your podcast- keep it up for us older martial artist.

I think you have a good strategy for dealing with them. It's a shame what the prevalence of technology and social media has turned some people into. I feel like it's emboldened the racist, mysogist, and just downright rotten individuals that gain satisfaction from this. I like your take on things and have a great channel! I think good people that watch your content (and don't) already know that if there are mean comments festering it's not because you're intentionally ignoring them, but sometimes it's just not feasable, like you said, to be on top of all the comments, especially as you gain more subs. Continue doing what you're doing! Wish you lots of success!

I totally agree about emboldening the rotten. It's such a shame. And thank you! I appreciate you! 🙏

I did not pass the shodan degree a few years ago and gave up on karate (I trained Nishiyama style). The sentiment about karate remained....

When people say your content profits from the engagement of the trolling, it sounds like a suggestion your content needs that engagement because the videos aren't good enough. Your videos are great - they don't need that type of attention. As long as you're honest and sincere with your content, you will get more hits. You will get the respect you deserve.
