Good show. You better have hobbies or ways to stay busy in the province. Don't expect to retire and have a restful life. It will feel that way for a few months but boredom will take over if you don't find things to do. I sent a ton of stuff over. So rainy days I cook, watch old movies, workout, work in the garage on wood projects, read or go on short trips with my wife. I know guys that go crazy or leave after a few months. It's not like living in the bigger cities here. We love it ❤❤❤

Brother Brian Kerver,And the gloomy,cloudy and rainy weather that can lasts for many days that can give you the " blues " that will make you become depressed,tired and bored.And the winter seasons in Vancouver,British Columbia --- Canada ( True North Strong and Free ) always rains almost everyday during winter time that start from late October until March caused by the very warm Pacific Ocean's tropical weather.And instead of getting snowfalls,we get lots of rains all the time.

There's just not a lot of jobs in the Philippines because the country has been so miss managed by the government. It's such a shame because the country is so rich in naturally resources and has 7000+ islands there's no reason why it shouldnt be one of the worlds leading tourist destination. But so many places are just dirty, broken and ugly that no tourist want to go there. What a shame.

Here is a good question for you Brian. Would you rather be a little blue because it is the rainy season on the Island or would you rather be BLUE because you were back in Philly in the freezing weather of winter? lol Even paradise has some shortcomings. Have you thought about putting a cover on your scooter for rainy season? I have seen them on scooters in your videos. A windshield/roof cover would shield you from much of the rain. I wouldn't want one year around but during rainy season might be worth it. No way you are going to leave the Island, you are thriving there. Anyplace you live will have some problems and Siargao Island appears to have more positives than negatives. Live your best life! Phil

Hello 👋
@charlesetienne603713 күн бұрын
Siargao is like Prasllin Island in the Seychelles but it is many times bigger, even putting all the Islands of Seychelles together it is about the same size as Siargao. Just imagine a country comprising 115 islands scattered in an ocean of 1.4 million kilometres apart from each other with land surface the size of Siargao. Even that small with a population of 100k people this tiny nation is the first in Africa on many indexes like GDP per capita, education system, strongest passport. Just think then I live all my life in this country with no city or town no shopping malls, no international food chains, no coffee shops, no private own cars, no discotheque, no clubs, no cinema, this is La Digue island the third most populated island with 5000 people living on it and bicycles is the way to go 3*5 km square area a big granitic rock in the ocean with lust green vegetation surrounded by sandy white beaches with blue turquoise sea. You think of all this Brian, I am 55 years old and have been living on this island raising my two children here. I have traveled to Africa, Asia and Europe visiting over 20 countries with countless big cities, will I change this life for a modern city like BGC . The answer will be yes only for the convenience and amenities that is for a break only, I prefer my small tiny tranquil place like a drop of sand in the middle of an Ocean. Siargao for the same as many of the small Islands in the Philippines I will be able to live down the path with no problem. The only difference between us is the environmental disaster there as in Seychelles there are no volcanos, no earthquakes, no venomous snakes, no wild animals, no typhoons. We have only the north and south monsoons one dry and one rainy season. Climate there is no difference between the two countries and with tropical settings. I will be there soon because I am planning to make the Philippines a big part of my second home during the year to compensate for what I miss here. This is the reason I am planning to live my retirement life until I can no longer travel long haul and settle here.

Maybe as parents (Aunts, Uncles) it would be your responsibility to teach your kids to have manners. Teach them that a spoon is not a shovel and to eat and chew a spoonful at a time. When living there I observed many kids shoveling food down their mouths and thought, what kid of parents do these kids have, does the whole family eat like a pig.
