I think it was a brief experiment that comes back round every now and then... I pop up a window to block them (but would rather not need to).

@@KevKevAllen The ones you can turn off are called Closed Captions. The whole silly issue is a YT trend of creators using Open Captions that are hard coded onto the actual video image. They can't be removed. You'd need to use a digital edit suite to blur or pixelate them which becomes an even worse abomination.
