Aside from raising Sam, Dean was good with kids because he had a lot of empathy. He understands how they feel.

I always found the scene with Sam and Dean taking care of the shifter baby weird, specifically when they’re talking about why Deans good at taking care of babies and kids. He ends up making so many excuses, like his girlfriend’s niece and taking care of Ben. Like I get he was young when Sam was a baby, but his dad was spiraling and wildly depressed at the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dean had to learn to change a diaper or two! In fact, throughout the show, sam seems surprised that deans good with kids. Like when Dean says he loves kids, Sam says “name 5 kids” or some shit. Yeah, he’s good with kids, man! How do you think you survived??

Obviously he's great with kids... he practically raised Sam since the time he was a kid himself. Loved watching Dean and Ben together... wish they had kept Ben in the series.

Dean was always good with kids even if Sam didn't really see it. He had always looked after Sam when her father was away and later, when Kinder was on cases, he always had a heart for her. He was also like a father to Ben. And she more than deserves to start a family, ideally with Lisa. They were a good match. That's why I'm upset about the ending that was denied to him.

I know I loved Lisa and Dean also ben is there son and you can't convince me otherwise. I read that the actress who played Lisa chose to leave because she was getting death threats from fans who wanted Dean to be with Cas.

The reason that Dean is good with kids since he is the one who keep the family from falling apart . Even his dad said that he never worried about Dean at all since he take care of everyone including him .

It breaks My Heart Knowing that Dean got a chance to be Father and have his own Kids. But his relationship’s with Ben Brandon, Emma, Claire Novak, Jack Kline and Bobby John were The Closest Thing to Dean getting being a Father.

I stand by this the decision to kill Dean in the end as a hunter instead of letting him go back to Lisa and Ben was a terrible decision he had the chance to live the life he never got to and its how the series should have ended. Almost would have been poetic if he had the family and Sam died as a hunter considering how it all started but either way for me the real ending is Dean making it back to his family and growing old with them.

The ending to supernatural was stupid. I think it should have ended with Dean and Sam both having families. Dean's stroy is very tragic indeed. All his life, he was hunting, couldn't receive any love from his parents.

It’s sad but even Dean said that would be his end he knew he would always die hunting and he always told Sam he was meant for more. It does suck and it’s unfair but to Dean he lived his life and he completed his job, protecting Sam. His legacy lives on through Sam’s son who he named Dean.
