@realjamespreston I found that part of this interview really interesting...ML had been idolized so much in the press, even after he left wife #2 for wife #3. And yes, he was adored and revered for many good reasons, but WAS human! The unkind things he said to Dean (and others) express a darker side of him. His legacy remains, but I can't help but feel a bit bad for Dean as it really affected him and how he perceived his own abilities. Of course, Dean has had great success in his career, yet he still seems a bit hurt. I have memories like this in my own life and while they were resolved years ago, I can still recount those painful moments when someone was less than thoughtful like they happened yesterday. Upon meeting Dean, I found him to be truly genuine even under hectic and exhausting circumstances. These interviews really bring out his genuine appeal. I like that Patrick added a little insight with his theory...and he was a teenager observing those things! Just a really great interview!

@@andreap3669 I found Patrick's theory interesting as well. But Linwood Boomer was also a younger and good looking guy on the show as well. I wonder what his experiences with Michael were like? Whatever the case, I enjoyed this conversation between Patrick and Dean because it gave me some insight into what Michael Landon was really like. I mean, as much as I like Pa Ingalls, we all know Michael was nowhere near being Pa Ingalls.

@lightninseed Maybe Patrick will get him on the show! I'd love that! I have heard he is really a funny guy! He is quite a successful producer as well!

Ps. Dean Butler is now the head of the little house on the prairie family now and what you did for the 50th reunion all over the country will be remembered for years and years after we're all gone. Thank you so much for doing it❤

I've had the great pleasure to meet both of these gentlemen separately but it was such a treat to see and hear them interact with each other and Patrick did a great job of digging into Dean's past and Dean was very open and truthful with his in depth answers. Bravo to both of you!

I just think it's cool that this podcast and other podcasts exist talking about Little House. I'm rewatching with my wife. On season 6 of my binge and watched it as a kid religiously. Amazing nostalgia and a one of a kind show that really teaches lessons. Hard to find anything else in television history even close to it.

Patrick, please write (or dictate, or whatever...) a memoir!! Reading memoirs from contemporaries that we enjoyed watching in our youth greatly helps us 60-somethings to revisit, take stock of, and somehow resolve in our consciousness the world we all lived through. Before reading Dean's excellent book, I read the wonderful memoir by Ron and Clint Howard. Also previously read other books by LHOTP cast members. Especially for those of us who have been (and still may be) performers, such memoirs bring back memories of our unique experiences doing shows, while also cultivating empathy for the struggles we all had being young in the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Thanks for this fascinating interview! Just subscribed and will watch more!

This is a FASCINATING interview!!! The very specific understanding you and Dean share (about Michael and the bts of Hollywood/Little House) allows for the most interesting questions and conversations I’ve heard between two actors in a long time. I appreciate you asking difficult questions and really going there in the things you guys discuss. Really well done, Patrick! I enjoyed this immensely!

This is an awesome video/chat that you guys had. i have always been the kind of guy that likes to learn the who what wheres and whys of how something is created..TV being a huge process. You guys sound as genuine as any other guy and not putting on an act or so forth about anything. This IMO is a must watch video for sure...long, yes but the time flies by. Thanks for doing all that you guys are doing for the entertainment industry and of course Little House. It would be cool to know what you think your best and worst or weakest performance was on Little House being you were young and didn't have the experiences under your belt you now have as an adult. Watch this video folks!!! It truly is a MUST SEE!!

Jonathan Garvey was handsome. How can you not say your TV dad was hot, Andy!🤣💙 Even Mr. Edwards had a scruffy, lumberjack cuteness about him☺. What I want a Little House cast member to get into is why was it such a tragedy for an Ingalls man-child to survive?? Even poor ole Albert didn't even make it & he was adopted🤔🤣Charles Jr didn't make it. Mary's baby didn't make it. Laura's baby Wilder didn't make it. What the hell, guys?? Were the Ingalls cursed?🤔🧐🤷🏽♀
@Jtown39Ай бұрын
Anyone pay attention that the show repeated storyline? The two characters morphine addiction, the different blind person stories, carrie and Nancy falling in a hole. The alcoholic storyline, When Albert is dying, Laura is talking to manly about a kid named andy..like manly never met him.
