An absolute master. Am stoked to be seeing him open for Jenny Lewis soon. No disrespect to Jenny Lewis- but I’m not going there to see Jenny Lewis. Johnson’s music conveys a heart that resonates with a place timelessly ancient yet familiar to tomorrow’s yesterday. Melodies that flow with a prairie’s terrain. A soundtrack befitting the solitude of a sunset. So rarely does music convey such a palpable condensation of soul.
