Chibihalo2 ... Just heard Carol speak about this. She said she broke her ankle or something during her part by herself. Her foot was swelling up during this song and , that when they went down.They kept going till the end. What a team they was. I just received listen to it, at on place Dean say " you can drop her Harry now" She said that someone dropped her... It must of been Harry.

Another interesting thing about this clip (at least for other film buffs like me) are all the feathers from Florence’s gown floating around the set. This is very reminiscent of the infamous dance number ‘Cheek to Cheek’ from the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers film Top Hat, where exactly the same thing happened to Ginger, and which apparently annoyed the perfectionist Fred because they were all over his pristine evening suit and held up filming for some time while the offending dress had to be re-sewn.

Not to be dismissive of Florence because she was great, but there are far more than you think. You’d be surprised at how many dramatic and comedy actors have done a lot of musical theater. Many of them start out doing that in their training but don’t get the opportunity to showcase it once they begin working in film or tv.

Henderson is the only woman I know who made Dean seem behind the pace, here. Unruffled, Florence sings in perfect pitch as Dean catches his breath to comprehend her exuberant talent and charm. Of course, this is ancient times when men were men, dressed sharply before selfies and conforming 3-day growth were the ordinary standard.

I think was the scene where Florence crashed to the floor because earlier in the day, during rehearsals, she'd done a back flip off a dancer and snapped a bone in her foot. Her foot was swollen and taped and when she went down, Dean came with her. Of course Dean was delighted because he was all about spontaneity and improvisation.

Dean just shows up unrehearsed , not knowing a thing and Florence saves him. She does his part too. She deserved better than she got here.

He was unrehearsed but he knew exactly what was going on. Rehearsals were taped and provided to him so he could see what others were doing, and Greg Garrison stood in for him during rehearsals and let him know what he was supposed to do. Dean believed in spontaneity.
