Great job putting this together. Have always loved this song. But this bought tears of sadnes. Also tears of joy cause at the end of Dean's life he had, his sou mate Jeanne with him. Also she was with him thou the death of their son and death of his pal Sammy. Also Jerry was back in his life. All this bring tears of joy cause he had people who care for him at the end of his life

Bobby Goldsboro wrote a great song but dino had the right blend of reflection and sadness to make it unforgettable her so much better known for his comedy both with lewis and in his variety show and roasts but he may have been as good as Perry como and certainly on par with Frankie in his singing...few that multi talented anymore bravo dino

Just check on the history of this song. It was 1st wrote by a song writer also name Bobby?? It was 1st given to the Kingston trio to sing but in 1968 it was given to Bobby Goldsboro to sing. like I said this was a big part of my teenage years so looking back into the history of this song was interesting.
