I still own my '81 Dean Z... one of the best guitars I have and I own 20 plus nice American made guitars. My Dean that I bought when I was just 13 is still the benchmark of excellence I compare all other guitars to 👍❤️

Great guest dean. This podcast has been nothing but fascinating, one thing id love to hear you elaborate on is we all know darrell loved to play your mls in his career, but id love to hear your insight on him playing them in the 1980s with early pantera. He had so many dean mls, including the white white one i heard you made for him. That said diamond darrell lance on the headstock, it had the toggle switch by the knobs tropical style.

Dean guitars holds the rights to the ML not Dean Zelinsky, I don't think he wants to get sued. I know it seems weird that Dean can't make Dean guitars, but he sold the company 40 years ago and everything that goes with it including the original guitar designs. However, I believe he is in the process of manufacturing the DIme razorback guitars, so that will be as close as your gonna get to a ML. Or you can save your money and buy a vintage Dean pre 1985.....you won't regret it, in my humble opinion, the best electric guitars ever made.

@@georgejetson1923 the Dime estate does have ownership rights to the D3 model which is literally an ML with a misshapen headstock

@@joselopez6990that's cutting it pretty close if the body is an original ML shape. Look what GIBSON recently did to Dean guitars, and the Deans V & Z had a different headstock. Evidently It's the body shape that matters . But who knows. What I do know is everybody is sue happy these days.
