I can see both points of this. But he does show big respect while he taps, he is careful, describing and being careful, at the same time I can see how people find it disturbing. But no ones is destroying anything, no one is actually being rude or disrespectful. Most likely there is no relatives left, it doesn’t look like that (or no one care fo them). And maybe this is the first time in a longtime anyone actually visit just those gravestones, now we are thousands of people thinking of these peoples in the grave. They are brought back “to life” in our thoughts.

Personally, I think it’s nice to shed some light on tombstones that most likely don’t get as many visitors. The ones shown were from long ago. As a side note, the little stones are likely due to having less money than those with larger tombstones, animals are not typically buried among humans in graveyards.

Imma keep it real...he didn’t go to a modern cemetery. I live around the same area as him and there are a lot of historical graveyards/cemeteries where there are historical sections where the only visitors are people who come in to do the paper and crayon grave rubbing thing. If he was in a modern cemetery and was visiting people who died within recent years with fresh flowers on their graves, then sure, super rude...but these people who passed in 1900 are not getting visitors.

@@pastelcorpse3580 Of course generally everyone should be respected in both life and death, I was just noting that if he did it at a more modern cemetery where there was a chance someone’s daughter or brother or whatever was coming to visit their fresh grave, crying their eyes out, and arrived just to see him filming it and whispering, “ok miss ghost!” that they might not have the same appreciation, lmao 😭 I just meant that I think it was a responsible choice to film in a quieter cemetery where the pain of mourning may not be as fresh.

there is a very old and historic cemetery in my town. amazing place. i go frequently just to look around. i don’t touch anything and try to avoid stepping on graves but when the graveyard is older and has less order, it’s hard to not. i go to just read the graves and look around at the scenery. i really don’t think there’s anything wrong with this. it’s also a historic cemetery so no family will be there. the graves are from the 1800s and it’s with good intentions.

at first i was a bit sceptical and afraid that this would go into the wrong direction (aka the "goth" that danced on graves lmao) but i was pleasantly surprised! you were respectful in the way you treated the gravestones (being gentle, pointing out what you like about them, thanking them after you were done tapping). you also chose old gravestones, which i liked for two reasons: it ensures nobody sees you tapping on the grave on their recently passend grandma and gives some love to the gravestones that aren't visited often! and while i can see how people could find this video disturbing and disrespectful, i have to agree with the people that think this is an oddly wholesome way to honor the death. and if anything, dean isn't disturbing them, he is only tapping them into further peace! :>

He gave a tw at the start, he isnt saying anything offensive(he was saying thank you and saying he was trying to be respectful ab it)personally I wouldn’t care if someone was tapping my tomb stone(I’m dead ffs, I would literally be a corpse getting eaten by bugs in the ground). If I saw someone tapping my grandads tombstone for example, I would be a bit weirded out but not angry. I would politely ask them to leave and go to another one to give me space. Half these tombstones are really old so nobody’s visiting them anymore like I’m hardly gonna track down my great great great grandmas tombstone and visit it.Also like he said, no one was there so what they don’t know can’t hurt them

Like someone else mentioned, it’s good that he didn’t show him standing on or tapping newer graves. Those losses could still be fresh with the people who knew them. Also there is a certain history element to seeing all the older graves, most of which looked military related.

8:36 an anchor on a tombstones represents Hope and Steadfast. Usually, the tombstones with anchors on it means that the person who died was a sailor. 10:31 people get different size gravestones because not everyone can afford the big ones. The huge fancy gravestones with all the pretty details are super expensive. (Gravestones can get up to $30,000+) Not everyone is super rich so they will just settle with a small gravestone.

I understand both point of views here. But in the end, it's Dean's channel, and his videos. As long as no harm was intended (which, of course, he didn't do this with the intention of hurting anyone). If someone got hurt in the end, then it was a mistake/accident. We all make mistakes.

To everyone saying that what he did was disrespectful: •He tried to show some respect to the dead people. •You guys are saying he should’ve done his reasearch, but not much people even do that. Even if he did I’m guessing your comments of him being disrespectful wouldn’t even change much. •At least these graves are being seen, I’m assuming half of them don’t get visited anymore because of how old it is. Gravestones dont often get much visitors. It's nice that he was visiting them. •Even if you think it’s disrespectful at least know that there is good stuff about this. •No one is getting hurt and he shows big respect while tapping. You can tell that he was trying to be careful with his words. - 11 year old (By the way if your going to say “You're just supporting him because you're a fan” then I would like to remind you 60 percent of the comments are like this or shorter.)
