I’m a repairer as well Dean, and I hope folk note from this repair that we can’t always “just tell” what the problem is over the phone or even by running the problem tool. Let alone tell them what it will cost. And a 6 min video doesn’t mean it’s a 6 min job!

That's a very good point. Must make more of a point to note this in some videos. Iv had loads of people massaging me simple saying their tool is not working. "How much will it cost to fix". 🧙♂️

Makita is one of the more cost effective to repair their parts are alot cheaper than Dewalt and definitely mikwaukee

Another great thing about Makita is they break down the sub assemblies a bit more as available parts. You can often change out a switch, or a stator, even in a brushless tool.

Look for the exploded view drawing and try to figure out how it is put together.
