In 20 years of repairing tools I've never returned a repaired tool that was not cleaned inside and out, It just helps make the customer feel better.

Also makes repairing the item feel better I do electronics repair for friends and I've always cleaned the items first everything from guitar amps to phones and game consoles and controllers and enjoy them saying the item looks and feels like it's brand new

12:38 Those graphite pads on the red board are extremely worn out. This same problem causes 'stick drifting' in game controllers. I wonder if they could be repaired using a defrost repair kit. They sell them in auto parts stores for fixing the rear defrost lines in cars.

Have you considered getting an ultrasonic parts cleaner? Particularly good for cleaning electronic parts. Switches don't necessarily need to be dismantled so long as they have some opening to allow the cleaning fluid to enter.

I loved that you cleaned and repainted this tool. Now I am wondering if there's some type of colored plastic liquid that you can form and will harden. My go to brand is JB Weld for adhesives, etc

No, milwaukee changed the design and removed the spring. They have springs anymore so the battery contacts burn up faster

- you keep me company a lot of hours... - just a quick note, whenever we leave some wires unconnected, it is a good practice to insulate them, since they may be not passive, but bring power to the sub-board, like the one that counts strokes.

I do grease the gears, but experience has shown me not to put on to much. As it just comes back out and into the motor

I would love to have seen his face when he got a nearly new gun back. Out if curiosity, whats the hourly rate for repairs. I have a load of broken tools from my years as a joiner but never thought it economical to repair them. Cheers. Good show

Wish my 1/2 inch Makita impact had an O-ring on the anvil as the hog ring doesn't hold well. Not sure what they were thinking as my 3/8 has a O-ring.

You mentioned on a previous video that your go-to bosch repair drill sounded worse than the one you were repairing. How about a self-repair video of your bosch driver using your skil or something? Just a thought...

Zip ties should also work for repairing that body, they are cheap and easy to melt, and also easy to maneuver.

I don't know if Ingersoll Rand is even in business anymore because I haven't been around it for years but I loved their tools and I had a Craftsman 1/2" air impact gun with 600 ft lb of reverse torque that was great.

They are still around. TBH quality is not what it used to be but still solid enough on average but every company has gone downhill on quality control.

The manufacturer declares it in user manual, if not try search online. Any type of lithium based grease will do, but viscosity can depend on type of power tool.

All my tools are spotless and kept sealed in their boxes or packets and stored on shelves away from dirt, fingerprints and grime. I must make a video to show them to KZbinrs one day.

glue is soft,you want something hard to pack out the movement of the battery

wont be as durable over time considering the battery might be smashing in and out on a weekly basis the superglue will deform or break down quicker.

Super glue is very brittle and doesn't bond well with most types of plastic.

You know, a 3D printer should pump out those little silicone dust boots no problem. I'm certain I heard they can 3D print silicone now. It would probably add to cost but a 3D printer would be an investment to repairing these mostly plastic tools.

Anyone know how to fix a loose anvil on one of these? I took it apart but didn't see much. The tool doesn't really owe me anything it is 6-7 years old. I did notice that the front nose housing is broken around the anvil. Not sure if that is what holds it tight? Thanks to anyone who replies.

yes, Milwaukee tools last no time, and are generally not worth fixing when they fail outside warranty.

The dirt inside that Milwaukee was probably full of metal particles oil and Grease. Not great stuff inside a switch.

How can anyone treat their power tools this way. My Milwaukee high torque is 1 year old, I use it everyday and I clean it at the end of everyday. It still looks brand new due to using Tub O Towels to clean them. Do not be lazy techs, those tools are your life line. There is ZERO excuse for this filth.

ill agree with you as a homeowner you dont need milwaukee. ryobe or bosch is fine. but you will get made fun of on a jobsite or mechanic garage with those underpowered tools. they call those fisher price kids toys.

⚠️ Dean, be careful of contact / break cleaner and solvents in general 🙏🏻 It is really nasty stuff, I advise you to spray them outside when possible and limit skin contact to the minimum, really. You should not be stuborn on that point 😌 Take care !
