Deandre Brackensick performs at the 2013 Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival

Deandre Brackensick initially auditioned for the tenth season of American Idol, but he was cut in the green mile round because the judges felt like he wasn't ready and advised him to come back the following season to audition again. He did return and auditioned for the eleventh season of American Idol[7] in San Diego, California, ultimately making it into the top twelve male contestants.
