Github is written in Rails. Shopify is written in Rails. Yet it get more bashing than python (which is slower than ruby) for slowness.

It's just really funny because the same people who ask the question most of the time probably don't even know what runtime complexity is, so the speed of the language is kind of irrelevant to their goals lol.
