You have gotten WAYYY better at editting and compositing videos for maximum entertainment and value. I think with this one, you've put cuts at the right spots without totally destroying the value that comes with seeing a professional learning something from scratch , showing the process through mistakes and whatnot. Perfect balance

That random bar of 2/4 at the halfway point is crazy. Even though you’re playing it completely correct, it sounds like you’re fucking up because your brain expects it to loop smoothly back to the beginning of the passage, and those extra two beats throw off the whole flow. Super sick riff, great job man!

I really love this video - it shows a mostly complete process of learning something new, and through this, goes to show how even an extremely skilled player such as yourself has to allow themselves time to learn it, and allow themselves the compassion to make mistakes and not get debilitatingly frustrated at themselves. So to all viewers, please be kind to yourselves, be patient with yourselves, and let yourselves grow and develop as musicians in a healthy manner.

Seeing someone else learn stuff is always fun, I think. It's cool to see that the guitarists we really respect and admire for their skill still walk the same steps we do when we're learning stuff. At a time where so many people on socials put so much importance on an illusion of flawlessness, seeing crazy talented people work through something like I do is really reassuring.

I love these videos. It's so great to see the uncut (or minimally so) learning process. As someone that has only been learning guitar for just over 2.5 years it's cool to see your approach to learning new things, even they're familiar. Getting my eyes off the tab-sheet and memorising is something I've been trying to focus on more lately as I've grown very accustomed to it and I know it's a bad habit. Can't wait for more!

Awesome! Funny that today's pick was The Zenith Passage; I'm going to see Mr McKinney and co live tonight! They're touring with your old friends in Fleshgod Apocalypse and happen to be in Toronto today, coincidentally enough. It's been like a decade since they've been here, last time with a very different line up backing up for Cryptopsy! Happy birthday, Dean! EDIT: Also realized you're wearing an ENTHEOS hat... at least, that's what it reads like to me... I can't remember when that logo is from! Too bad I'll miss their live stream on Twitch tonight because I'll be at the show, but hey, I tend to make it to most of their streams to enjoy tunes and some joints. You should pop by and make a song request in my absence! Lord Marco's been hanging out in their chat lately, but you and Spencer I haven't seen in the chat in quite a while! EDIT 2: Also, I went to see Vitriol backing up for Goatwhore on Tuesday. Kyle's having a rough time it seems; he was very well composed talking to fans and rather brave to perform with just his drummer as a two piece after all their mechanical bus troubles and now Adam just leaving the tour... He seems to be having a rough time of it, though. You should reach out to him to give some well wishes and support; without saying too much that would violate his privacy, it seems like he could use some support from his friends as he endures a lot of stress.

A cool thing my guitar teacher taught me was practicing "backwards" so you start near the end of the riff or part then add the bar before it, then before. Your brain always knows what's coming next and it makes it easier to transition. Think that's what you're talking about near the end.
