I've known this beautiful song for 50 years. You are hearing an angel sing. One of the GREATEST voices of the 20th Century. She has clarity and perfect diction. Doesn't get any better.

What a magnificent rendition of an equally glorious song! Coming from a kinder Winter in the Southern Hemisphere - in Australia, I find it hard to understand just how cruel Winter can be, especially in the Northern Hemisphere. The words from the song, "And one and one are two again" (when Spring finally comes) say it all!

My all-time Deanna song favourite. I've listened to it dozens of times. Words and melody just superb. Never heard anyone else sing it.

When listening to Deanna sing, (which I do frequently) she never fails to carry me off into a land of make believe, beauty and serenity. I was born in 1948, near the time Deanna packed it in with Hollywood and moved to France, so I never discovered her until I was much older, and became addicted to her hypnotic voice and classic beauty to match! "When April Sings" is one of my special favorites, and listen to it often. The only other soprano that moves me as much as Deanna Durbin, are the early operatic recordings of Anna Moffo. Theirs is a talent that I don't ever expect to see or hear in my lifetime. Deanna and Anna are now singing with the cherubic choirs in Heaven! May both of you R.I.P. and know that you're not forgotten!

My beautiful mother who has passed away always told me , and I am now 62 yrs old, that as a very young child I would stand other doorstep and sing this song. My mam was obviously a fan of miss Durbin xx

Listening to this angel sing, no wonder so many voice teachers taught their soprano students to emmulate this incredible voice! My mother told me that 60 years ago, her voice teacher would have her soprano students listen to as many recordings as they could Deanna Durbin, and now it makes sense as to why, her voice was a clear as crystal !!

This lady whom I discovered just today (December 28th 2012, I am ashamed to admit) has the most glorious voice. I downloaded two of her albums, I now have over 50 of her songs to enjoy. One album, also includes Jane Powell, Anna Marie Alberghetti and Gloria Jeans, truly truly the most amazing voices one could listen to. Oh happy days:) To think she has just turned 91 (as to, my mother).

I used to play this over and over when I was a kid. My mum loved Deanna Durbin, as she was a couple of years younger than her, so grew up listening to her and watching her movies as a child. I still love Deanna, after all these years. She had a truly amazing voice.

Thank you, Eugene, for this studio recording and the lovely picture of dear diva Deanna. I re-discovered her in a seniors course titled "Hollywood Sopranos a year ago and fell in love with her. (And still am! :-)) I had a course with that teacher last week and told him that Deanna Durbin was all over You Tube. He didn't know because he never watches it. When I see him this fall in an opera course he's helping with, I'll ask him again, and if he says no, I'll do something about it. :-)

This song is from "Spring Parade" with Robert Cummings. I have a DVD of the movie, and it is great! I did not know that Robert Stolz wrote this number. I'll have to look at the movie again and see the credits. He was a great writer of operetta. Der Favorit and others. Check him out and see if you agree. Deanna is so precious, isn't she?
Чудный голос. Великолепно. И сама невероятно красива.

Deanna Durbin the 24 carat golden voice, superb performance of Robert Stolz's "When April Sings". However, I also loved the music extravaganza of Deanna Durbin's "Waltzing In The Clouds", but as usual, You Tube tragically, turned viewer's comments off. Perhaps, the You Tube staff don't like or understand beautiful romantic ballads. I think the Green Party would like Stolz's music & lyrics, because it's all about climate changes & nature's greenery dressings.
