Pennine Way 2019 - Day 13 - Greenhead to Bellingham

Day 13 on the Pennine Way was perhaps one of my favourite days so far. I was joined again by my friend Dale and we walked from Greenhead along Hadrian's Wall to the iconic Sycamore Gap. Dale and I parted company when the Pennine Way left the wall. It was then a long slog through forest, bogs and moorland to Bellingham.

The internet and social media get a lot of very negative press and rightly so in certain ways, but this is where it works positively. To see a normal down to earth nice guy like you Deano collecting for a very important charity is great to hear, and the amount collected in such a short time is brilliant. I will be adding my donation later today. Great cause buddy. Have a great days walk and keep smiling my internet friend 👍 #teamhobnob

You are so lucky to be able to do the walks you do. i watch all the walks you do more than once im walking with you in a way. used to walk a lot myself but due to ill health can no longer walk far now so a big thumbs up for more vids dean. made me laugh as you said this terrain is very undulating your friend said it has its ups and downs.

Wish I was there too Dean. After the 1st 10 in10 I walked the Steel Rigg section so I was nice to see that bit again 👌. There will be no stopping you now to reach the end. Amazing amount of money raised given that you only set up the page half way through the walk. Oh and cheers for the mention 👋

Fantastic walk dean love watching your adventure over breakfast. Remember if you want to continue walking, Scotland’s national trail begins where pinene way ends and goes all the way to cape wrath in north west Scotland. Another 30 days walking😃

Great having a bit of banter with your mate Dale, picture at Sycamore Gap..brilliant. You are much more than "just a Ginger out for a walk",you're a truly inspirational character ! As for the Honesty Shop WOW...that was fabulous (I thought you must have taken a turn for the worst when you donated the packet of Hobnobs). Fantastic area to spend a day walking. Nearly there now!

Well done, Dean. 👍 That was a surreal moment there when you were talking to Ben, as I met him last year when I was in Edale. He works the bar at The Rambler Inn. He's a good guy.

Hi. Enjoying the series. Have been looking forward to this section because of watching your Hadrian's Wall series in 2014. What wonderful scenery! Regarding the difficulty of following the trail through the moors, I suggest they do what I've seen on the Appalachian Trail - Put a post or large rock within sigh of each other with a marking indicating the official way. That is an easy and cheap solution. Because this is an isolated area, there would be little chance of vandalism. Your thought? Looking forward to finishing this series of your walk. Thanks!

Beautiful scenery up on Hadrian’s Wall. You started in the same place we did a few years ago, with the little shop and defibrillator in the car park. Nice to see that part of the country again.

Well done mate ! I did it the other month in just under 13days in a bivvy, trainers and shorts. Was amazing. Did a couple of nights in hostels but other than that was in that bivvy bag. If I had the time and money (and new trainers) I woulda loved to have done it North to South after that. Doing The Great Chalk Way next year which looks interesting, along with Offas Dyke path. Seen your 'White To Dark Way' vid and gonna try and fit it in this year somehow in a long day. Cheers.
