Really look forward to the new episodes. The stories are great. I had an 82 black Baby Z that was my main guitar for several years until I decided to gift it to a girlfriend that was learning to play. Not one of my most brilliant moments. That guitar had the perfect neck and sounded so good. Thanks Dean!

Dean, I bought my first ML in 1981-82. That was one of the most iconic purchases I have ever made! I have since purchased many others. including many of your Private label guitars. Amazing , to say the least!. To be so enamored by your guitars at such an early age in my musical career, proved to be a turning point in how I evaluated a guitar. My guitar was sheer perfection in playability, tone, and just an incredible uniqueness that inspired my musical journey! Thanks for being the most relatable, in touch with your customers kind of guy! You are truly an American icon in the guitar industry!

I was going to say something about going into six string sales as a little kid and seeing your guitars on the top (out of reach and at the time out of my price range) display self. Always stood in awe of them and now own a few. I left with a Hondo that day but will never forget the first impression they made on me.

I know your old company is a touchy subject, but I just wanted to say that I own Hardtail #49 since it was new. I love this guitar, gigged it for many years. The frets have divots, the hardware is a little tarnished, but it still looks and plays as awesome as the day I got it. No trailer queen. I'd love to tell you about the story of how I purchased it, and why I will be playing this guitar for life.

How did you Dean, get involved with Dime during the “DamagePlan” Era & what was the overall Plan, for his future with dean guitars? You rock Dean & Parker!!! 🤘
@TexasSmoking6 ай бұрын
From what i know is dimes contract with washburn had expired, and he knew dean was back with the company so he went back to dean. Dime was still playing his washburns with damageplan but he also had a few dean imports he played too later in the bands life. Sadly he passed before dean could get him any usa dean guitars and of course dimes new design he was working on with dean the razorback.

I want to hear about how Washburn knocked off the shape of the ML (I’m not too well versed on Dean models 🤷♂️ but I think that’s the one) and Dime endorsed Washburn. I’m sure it’s all about money and you probably were out of the game at the time, but I find some of the trademark infringement stuff to be kind of interesting. I believe you basically knocked off the explorer and v shapes, so I reckon it’s all fair game (or was). Either way, interesting stories.
@TexasSmoking6 ай бұрын
Dean was out of the game at that time. Dime was playing older ml models but was looking for a company that could make him one. That was during the tropical era of dean guitars, and they did make him a few but he didnt like them. Bc rich and hamer also made him some to try as well. But he went with washburn because they were the only company that offered to put his name on the guitars and agreed to make budget models for public sale. The body and headstock were altered on his washburns to avoid infringement. A common thing in the guitar world

Dean, you’re a national treasure. Parker, you don’t talk enough. I like how you keep things moving! The original Dean guitars, to me, are a part of pop culture. Rock history. My question to Dean is, what is your opinion of Gibson since King Henry, do you think they have become an industry bully? Paul Reed Smith. Can you relate to that company? Take care! Both of you! Love the podcast!

Now you need to find a current artist that can connect to the new generation of metal heads. Most kids born after 2000 don’t even know who Johnny or dime are or the guitars they played. Gotta expand for a wider market, your guitars have gone on for generations and dean guitars isn’t helpin to keep that name up. Gotta make sure you keep your name well known to the new kids too
@NewGenerationHeadbangersBall6 ай бұрын
@@AuntAlnico4 yeah we’re just sayin he should look into the new generation of guitar players too, instrumental music is becoming more and more popular with the younger generation right now. They can help carry the guitars into the next gen and show the guitars to them. Some kids don’t even know who dime was so how would they know about the guitars. I know of a kid who is blowin up his band and plays a stealth. A lot more kids of the new gen know him for playin that guitar and he’s makin kids buy ml shapes cause he plays it. We’re just suggesting he should have a new player endorse the guitars for the new generation
