The problem with this game is you genuinely HAVE to play like a rat. It’s near impossible to score 1v1s against goalkeepers all of a sudden, I hate playing a certain way because the game requires it but I needed 4 wins quick last night and I just tried getting down the wings and squaring it to Okocha. He was ALWAYS there for the cutback… all of a sudden im scoring for fun. The problem is the game actually forces you to play that way to have any success because otherwise you’re stuck having 20 shots on target and 1 goal to show for it

Honestly, my motivation to log on is gone. Can’t complete SBCs because I rarely pack anything over 83 rated. Not packed a promo card in ages. Despite having a handful of 84+ cards I seem to pack nothing but untradeable dupes. Realised this morning that I’ve not actually used my main team in weeks, because when I do play then I’m playing swaps/objectives - for what? More untradeable dupes….

@@jorder the new chem is a nightmare for me. I want to get any sbc done quickly then back to playing. A rating is all it should be, no club, league min or max requirement etc. I cant understand why they employ someone to sit down and keep coming up with this list of requirements in a game for some of these sbcs, total waste of time. I also tend to avoid any player thats 3 parts or above to complete. One or two parts is fine, three only if the player is someone I really want.

I was playing 4-4-2 and was handling all the lengthy business, then they patched, and I couldn’t win a game. Switched to 41212 diamond. Played a super pacey CAM, insanely quick LM/RM and Lahm who is the German Kante at CDM. I proceeded to win 7/10 qualifiers

I have lived my 50 years now of evolution. Video games where not a thing, until I was around 10. And online, was non existent until I was around 20-25, when Internet was introduced. After that, there has been one consistent thing that has stuck with me. Jealousy and greed. And the total reluctance to be happy for someone else. We all play video games to have fun. But this competitiveness "I want it all, but no one else should have anything, so I can gloat"-attitude, is so sad to see. Even in friendlies it is so hard to find nice people to help each other out for objectives. This "I HAVE TO WIN EVERY GAME"-attitude, is killing the enjoyment in online gaming for me. But that is how it is, and all you can do, is try being friendly yourself, and hope for the best.

In the regular ultimate version, you’re right yes. But in that World Cup version that is a separate mode from the regular that’s just dumb af. Here you are with an opportunity to use any card ever for the first time ever without needing to put that much work in, but no you wanna grind yet again for a new team. That’s illogical. Skill based matchmaking kills the game. Friendlies are also SBBM ? Seriously EA ? If you’re a Div 1 player, you get matched only against equally skilled div 1 players, what’s the point in grinding the game ? I created a new account and played swaps. Guess what ? 20 wins in a row. So playing 500+ games has actually given me a disadvantage. EA will always protect the casuals to make sure they don’t quit and open packs.

If I play a lot of games, and go 1 div above where I belong, I would not be able to finish swaps because my opponents are all better than me. However, if I’m very good at the game and don’t play division rivals at all, I’d match up against players who’re way bellow my skill level. How does this make any sense ? Grinding the game more should never be a disadvantage.

Because div rivals you are matched against someone on your skill level, champs you can be matched with people worse the same or better its just pot luck, rivals you are in for a sweaty game every single game, most people I know only play their 8 rival wins then wont touch it again till next week.

However, in my first week in champs, I lost 8 games and I could tell the skill difference between me and those opponents -- they were probably div 1 or even Elite with their crazy expensive meta squads and the way they were playing.

The state of gaming is the best it’s ever been when it comes to the games themselves. We just had some of the best games of all time released this year in elden ring / the new god of war. The lineup of games next year is absolutely insane but so much of the community only play online social games now rather than actual good games and fifa / cod fall into that category even tho cod improved a bit this time. People get hooked on the grinds of games like fifa these days that have minimal changes each year and 3/10 gameplay for hundreds of hours over 10/10 gameplay and new experiences that so many games offer these days. The year where I quit fifa and online gaming was my most enjoyable year of gaming where I played tons of new games and had original experiences where fifa sucks many of us back in with the World Cup. Essentially it’s just run down the wing Ronaldo chop cut in finesse for hundreds of hours every year. The content isn’t really the problem with fifa it’s just that people are burnt out with the grind of ultimate team type modes in every sports games. If you look at nba 2k etc all of the content creators for these sports games are burnt out because there’s only so many years that someone can have their virtual cards taken away then re start the grind over again with almost the same exact gameplay.

FIFA need different tournament modes based on players, more meta then higher mode, so if you have no meta then you still could play with other who wonts to play with 85 rated players instead of Mbape etc., like weight classes in boxing - middleweight, lightweight etc.

Honestly I know Fifa 19 had it’s problems, but I totally disagree that Fifa 22 and 23 are better, Fifa 22 with that BS of R1 defending and people only let de cpu centerbacks defend. Last year I got my first crazy OP first owners, Mid Pelé Fut Birthday CR7( 5*5*) and 94 Mbappé, and I couldn’t get the crazy best of them that they should allow to me, because the game is totally defensive oriented, while fifa should be offensive oriented for people to score a lot and have fun. Don’t get me wrong, these 3 cards were amazing, but in Fifa 20, 21 and all of the other older ones, they would be much more OP and fun, and that’s what’s fifa beast players should be about and not getting destroyed by Gold Fast Centerbacks loads of times

BUT, the idea that the state of gaming is down, is completely false. this is a major issue I have with fifa players, they're not gamers and it shows when they evaluate fifa. the reason they only play AAA competitive games like COD and Overwatch is bc they don't like games, they like e-sports. VIDEO GAMES have literally never been better. We've never had this much access to quality games of all genres. Ppl don't play them bc you're not into gaming for games; you're into gaming for the sensation of winning.

To play this game I need amnesia from fifa 12-15 as those were the best times. Forget about a good match of football (although gameplay is not bad for the first time in 4 years), forget grinding for 1 decent player in your squad and meeting R9, Cruyff or Eusebio once a month in a lucky bastard team. Only see it as a panini album on console and keep your wallet open, cause that's the only way you gonna get it full. it's incredible that with a shit game like that you guys keep making so much quality content. It's Nepenthez, Inception, Pieface, Auzio, Runforthemarket/nick, dannyAarons, Boras, futaccountant, Castro who keep mee interested in this game, NOT EA.

As someone who used to play Fifa Online 2, I genuinely can say that. The Division structure and the rewards were better. FO2 divisions was hard to climb and it had semi tiers, for example there is Division 1, so there will be will be Div 1a, 1b, 1c. These tier system was good because you will definitely, will be able to rate yourself accurately because you will definitely know in certain part of your game, you’ve improved and also you wouldn’t lose all the time which is one of the biggest factor one to quit a game because you are really genuinely are up against players who is on your level. As for FO2 rewards, it is easy to pack good high tier players. But people still spend money on the game anyway because they released some really really rare good cards that people are genuinely are interested in.

Thats the issue with FIFA nowadays. It’s far too easy to get good stuff. I think they should make WL rewards worse and put it back to 40 games. They also should remove rivals and bring back the old divisions with the old rewards

It is wrong to be able to get players too quickly. Rewards in fut are a huge factor when it comes to playing the game. If you can obtain everything quickly game becomes dead. This is why every year the game dies around tots. Its dead right before tots and right after tots its done.
