Let's talk about why Insomniac should make a standalone sequel ala Miles Morales, why they won't make one due to Wolverine, and why they shouldn't make a Venom spinoff game.

its confirmed miles will be the main spiderman for the third outing, with peter most likely not suiting up at all @@PizzaDad

I know that they said Miles will be the "main" Spider-man going forward in this universe, but that doesn't mean Peter won't be suiting up at all. There is no way in hell Peter won't fight Goblin. There is way too much history between the two. It's possible he won't suit up until the final act, but he is definitely suiting up.

The quotes are taken a bit out of context. I’m going to copy paste what was actually said. Here ya go. 👍 [Gizmodo asks Arfmann and Morris: “You said earlier you basically knew right away that you wanted playable Venom. Does that also apply to ending this game with Miles as the ‘main’ Spider-Man from now on?” Morris replies: “It always felt very natural, and I think we all collectively thought it would happen. To me, it shows a great deal of evolution from Miles; at the beginning of the game, we see him struggling to figure out what he wants to do with his life. By the end, we had Miles carrying the burden of saving the city, and also carrying Pete when Pete wasn’t strong enough to carry himself at various points. “That’s what’s been so cool about writing a story about two Spider-Men: they’re both strong, and one of them can be strong when the other is not. By the end, Miles is more confident and he’s like, ‘Yeah, I got this. How much worse can things get after what we just went through?’] Given that last line, Peter’s definitely coming back, and his rivalry with Norman is most likely going to take center stage. Another Miles game would be great before the final chapter though.

i think they could bring in starling or rabble as villains for a new miles story. starling already exists in this universe thanks to the wings of fury prequel novel, and rabble is a more recent villain but i’ve heard she’s really cool and i would like to see her maybe leading a remnant of the underground or something

I think it's incredibly likely we'll get a Miles Morales 2. Wolverine will probably release next year. It was announced the same day as Spider-man 2, I doubt there will be that much of a gap between releases. And remember we didn't see any footage of Spider-man 2 until earlier this year too. Next year will be all about Wolverine, and that team will probably move onto Miles Morales after that. They were the team behind the first Miles game too. So it works. The team behind the main Spider-man games COULD move onto Spider-man 3 immediately after this. But they might make something else first. Possibly another Ratchet and Clank like last time and let Miles tie us over in the meantime. They might also make that Venom game. I do think a Venom game would be the best way to deal with Carnage if they don't cover that in the DLC. If they even have DLC. I definitely don't think Carnage should be in the next Spider-man game. I think the symbiote saga should either end in Spider-man 2, or be explored in a Venom game. We've had enough symbiote villains in Spider-man games.

If they make a Venom solo game they'd be wise to introduce either Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson to become his host this time, since the vast majority of Venom would prefer a Venom game to star someone who actually was Venom in the comics.

I think what insomniac should do is release a big dlc for spider man 2 tying up loose ends to story and set up for spider man 3. Now for spider man 3 not end Up like mass effect 3, insomniac should make Peter the only playable character through out the entire game. This is because this is Peter last time being playable in the universe so it would be a disservice to him.

I really wouldn't mind seeing a solo miles morales game I enjoy both peter and miles but to me miles getting solo games makes more sense. I would love, to see cindy and miles fighting original and fresh new villains.

@@edupe6185 yeah likely that, also she has her silk sense which is stronger then spidey sense. I really do hope they give her natural webs from her fingertips. I also read someone say she could make claws from her webs so maybe she could make weapons from webs

@@WatchOutForSpidersMan for one of the abilities they should give her peter’s web explosion from the first game where he would shoot webs in all directions, make it a bit weaker though since it was very overpowered. I though the same thing about the organic finger webs

@@edupe6185 yeah I’d like it to be explained as she basically has no limit to her webs, therefore she doesn’t have to worry about it. Also a web bomb would be cool where she makes a big ball of webs and throws it down like from the avengers game

If it adds enough new gameplay (silk gameplay for example) I think it would be a good idea. But if it’s only for story, I don’t want it.

They probably wont considering how poorly it did com-paired to the other games and also they probably should not make another game as it would feel like peter always has to share game time with miles while miles can just be alone and that would piss a lot of people off so in my opinion it would be a bad idea.

@@gracekim25 the first miles game was made because they were introducing him and his character needed space to breathe in order to leave an impression. His character (and this version of Peter’s character) no longer need that space to breathe as they can share the spotlight. If we have another spinoff game it should be with a character who would need that spotlight on them, like venom or Cindy moon. The only way I see another miles game really working is if the story explores his own character flaws, gives him a bigger villian, and introduces Peter coming back for the next game (like Peter comes out of retirement in the last half of the game) Personally I think the best spinoff game to do in the middle here would be a game set in Peter’s early years but that’s just me
