This is what a good story is as we saw in the first episode the protagonist was going through the state of denial in the second chapter it shows that he would even play with the powers of dark magic just to bring a friend back and in the third it tells the lesson on betrayal leading to anger that leads to the acceptance of life and emotion

Holy shit this series is good, the storyline and animation. The plot twist where jeff betrays the unknown owner by making him inferno is an extreme plot twist. Seeing the pink/red jeffling cry when flying away while their owner is suffering and is turning into a lava monkey is extremely saddening to me. It honestly.. Makes me cry even thinking about it.
