As a Norwegian I have to say that SAS is a disgrace to all of us Scandinavians. We deserve a better “national” airline. As you mentioned, it’s not the crew’s fault but the guys at the top who doesn’t understand the aviation business. If KLM, Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa etc can do it and still make a profit there is no reason why SAS can’t do it. A bottle of water in Plus on a 2+ hour flight is embarrassing. There is no other word to describe it.

@LiamWalsheliamskitchen4 жыл бұрын
I agree that SAS should not be using fare codes like J, C, D, Z, and I for SAS Plus if they are not going to be treating it like Euro business. I see no reason why they can't limit SAS Plus within Europe to Y, S, B, P, and A and for awards they could use N, although Perhaps having N as a short-haul SAS Plus award might be a problem because many Star Alliance programs can't book premium economy except on their own airline (ie Aeroplan) - and it seems for this reason they are usually booked into "I" and classed as business, but of course it is SAS plus just like it would be otherwise, with no blocked middle seat. If someone is connecting from a long-haul business class ticket to short-haul SAS Plus, they should just book the short-haul into Y or B as it happens on LH sometimes. NOW... I personally got amazing value from SAS Plus earlier this year. The flights I had were booked into "A" (SAS Plus Smart) - and the fare was very reasonable considering what it included. I had two bags with me and didn't pay a cent extra for them. I also got lounge access and all the priority stuff at the airport, oh and of course there was food on board, which was excellent on both flights. For what I paid (around $135 CAD for each of TXL-ARN and ARN-AMS) it was an amazing value - especially since the base fare for EasyJet was around $90 CAD per leg at the time including absolutely nothing. I even got 125% Aeroplan miles. I also felt the quality of everything was no doubt better than EasyJet. I even got an entire row of seats to myself on both flights. I would happily go for SAS Plus again if the price is right.

I was very interested in watching this video. I stopped flying SAS more than 15 years ago after my wife and I had the following experience. We live in Melbourne Australia. We had booked a first class round the world fare using Thai to Stockholm, SAS to Copenhagen, and Bruxelles. I was informed that SAS only had business class on their European legs. We accepted this and we were allocated two first row seats during our booking. Great was my surprise when our boarding passes had us seated in the last row from Stockholm. I queried this only to be told by the check-in agent that SAS only offered economy in Scandinavia. Furthermore, we were not SAS frequent flyers, so we were seated in the back. He could not care less that our fare was first class. I complained to the SAS office in Sydney on our return. They told me it was my responsibility to ensure they offered the service we had paid for! Are you surprised we do not fly SAS on our yearly trip? We flew Lufthansa from Barcelona to Tromsø last year to avoid SAS even though they only offered one weekly flight. By the way, we were charged a full unrestricted business class fare on the Stockholm to Copenhagen leg!

For me the state of airports (your Heathrow example is excellent) and the lack of any in flight experience is the main reason I'm travelling nowhere during the pandemic. Yes this probably means at this point I won't be travelling for maybe another 2 years but so be it. Were I to be travelling long haul it would most likely be in business so given the cost at the moment the level of service they can provide is never going to meet expectation or come anywhere close. I know it’s mainly in aircraft which have only one forward lavatory, as this is the one the cockpit will use, and due to corona they are mandated by EASA to block one toilet for crew use. SAS Plus gives you considerably more points than SAS Economy. And by the way, closing the forward toilets makes perfect sense, because they are for crew-only use during the Corona restrictions. But I agree 100% when you wish all airlines (and their employees) a speedy return to the skies. Covid-19 will NEVER go away, it’s here forever, but when the vaccine is widely available let’s hope we see a gradual return to full timetables again👍🏻✈️

SAS are basically bankrupt. They need to do some painful shrinking, restructure and start again.

Please listen to Dan and refrain from flying SAS at all costs I am still waiting for 3(!!) refunds from cancelled flights over the span of 1.5 years and they still won't pay me back. And their customer service is a joke So if you ever have a problem with them due to cancelled flights don't expect to get your money back anytime soon....

The reviews is not very balanced. The meal service is issue(or lack of) and SAS plus concern are majority of the focus while other premium and non-premium services are summed up in 10sec. Although your concern is valid it just comes over as a rant instead of a review.(which is fine if this was the purpose of the video).
