This video just reinforces my belief that I look better with short hairstyles, especially chin length/below the ears. I've always had long hair growing up. It wasn't until recently that I even considered getting short hair. One night out of boredom I chopped my hair off in my bedroom. Obviously it was a disaster and I had to get it fixed asap. So to the salon I went and they gave me a chin length cut. I got so many compliments the following days. My best friend told me don't even think about growing my hair out again. All in all I think we should all experiment and be creative with our hair. It'll take a while to find the right style and equally important, the right hair stylist. Trust me hairdresser will make or break your hair

In my opinion the most important factor is your facial dimensions(width and length), I have a wide face and with a very small forehead so there is an imbalance and this gets worse when I have my hair short. Longer hair bring more balance to my face, I have found that shorter hairstyles look good on people who have smaller faces irrespective of facial features. Also consider hair texture too especially if you have frizzy and shapeless hair like me.

i just wanna say that for me, styling my hair is extremely simple. I have short hair (right below the ear) and i never ever need to style it. i have never used any tools (not even a blow dry, except from when i got it cut) on my hair and it looks amazing. short hair is not always in need for styling. i might just be lucky but short hair for me is a blessing because i no longer have to style it like i did when i had long hair.

It just depends on what cut and the general vibe they're trying to go for(and the hairdresser. I feel like my hairdresser butchered it the first time i asked so now I just do it myself haha) If you want to try, go for it! Hair is just hair and it'll grow back. speaking from experience, short hair will take lesser time to style solely bc the length of the hair is easier to work with when it comes to both drying and ironing. long hair took me twice the amount to make them look as good, bc it takes way more time to blow dry it out fully.

Growing up, I've always had short hair but as I grew older, I became more aware of the way my face stood out and didn't like it so I decided to just grow them out. And to this day, I still prefer longer hair on me. I can style it differently and even loose curls look great! Speaking from personal experience, the smaller the face, the better it looks with short hair. I've rocked pixie cuts as well as short bobs and now I got long hair. By the principle of higher visual presence hairstyles being better for higher visual presence features, I think it could also be applied to clothing choices/styles. We have the seasonal colour palette that accounts for different skin tones and features, but incorporating the strength of visual features could also be pretty helpful. i rlly want a hair cut like Lee joo young at 5:14 but i am still in school and im scared others wont like it/might make fun of me. plus when i got bangs it took my best friend 2-3 months to be okay with it... my hair is usually shoulder length or a little longer. idk if i should wait until summer break to cut it short so if i dont like it i wont have to worry much. in 2 months (length of my summer break) my hair grows about two inches so it will be like up to my chin the hair... and if i do like it, then id just cut it back short and start my third year of high school like that. plus idk if my dad would want me to have hair like that, when i asked last year he said i would regret it. my face shape is either oval or heart shaped. idk what i should do, pls give ur opinions.

I look good more in long hair (waist length) but in the past year, I kept it short (shoulder to chin length) because of too much hair fall. I tried to go back to long hair but my scalp/hair is too weak to grow it longer. Sad.

Since I gained weight, very long hair looks better on me. But long hair with hime cut is cute too! Its because it gives illusion of V line while still taking away the wideness with the rest of the hair length. I recommend people buy a cheap wig to try a hairstyle first before changing their real hair.

The video has blown my mind. It was all about visual weight!! Then specifically between the upper and lower half of the face! I have naturally straight black hair and I didn't like it when my hair was long. After i dyed it i kept going lighter and decided i would never go back to long black hair. When i curled my long hair (ashy blond) i liked loose waves. Now i have a black pixie and i love it! I see now that i was balancing the visual weight this whole time as i changed the color and length. The length from my earlobe to bottom of my chin is a little longer than 2.25 inches but the lower half of my face is less visually prominent. I do think i look better with my hair at earlobe length or shorter. I'm just--wow. I want to go light again with my pixie and now i know how to balance it. Thanks peach!!

I never regret cutting my hair My hair was so long and so healthy I used to take care of it and my hair used to get compliments and I never thought 'bout cutting it he was As my babyyy 😂😂 However ! Gender exists, people associate different colours with genders, eg. boys with blue, girls with pink, and we cant change that because it was built up in society for so long. It's the same with hairstyles, girls are associated with longer hairstyles, boys are associated with short hairstyles. Either gender can look great with both. Theres nothing wrong with calling long hair girlish and short hair boyish, that's just how we as a society view it because of history and culture. The reason why the creator categorised hairstyles into boyish and girlish, is because some people might want to avoid looking either one of those ways, in order to look/feel better about themselves. That's how society is, and it will take a long time for it to change, if it will at all, so actually it's not so arbitrary

I know the person is just passing the info and that they didn’t make it. Also you saying that it could have been orange for male babies (or amab) really reinforces the point that in some point in the past, someone said blue=males. But its not inherent, its not like male babies are born holding a blue cloth. Your point of “it has been like that for ages” can be questioned, because many social issues have a long historic past but are somehow (slowly) trying to change. This type of idea that something has been like this for ages and for that reason can’t change doesn’t sit right with me (for social issues). I’m not saying “oh its all made up and it doesnt matter since we’re all gonna die” im saying that remember that even if something is qualified by society as “femenine” or “for women” that doesn’t mean only women can wear it. Or for people with gender dysphoria (me) remembering that hair cuts, clothes or even fragrances have no gender really help me to battle against that condition a bit. Pink was considered a boy's color back in the 1910-20s, but then it became a girl's color around the 1940s, then gender specific color fell out of fashion between 1960-70s, but came back strongly in the 1980s. 40 years isn't "so long" at all, especially relative to human civilization and the history of fashion. Same thing with short and long hair styles. For several centuries, across several cultures, long hair was worn by both women AND men. Europeans, Middle eastern, Asians, Native Americans? - long hair on men. Short hair for men is actually a pretty modern aesthetic. Thinking that a specific color or style denotes one gender over another is very outdated thinking, and a lot of people have moved away from it (thankfully.) Nowadays, trends come and go super fast. It's actually not that hard to hop onto new trends and ways of thinking as just about everything is "aesthetic" nowadays. So yeah, we really should look to finding better ways of describing things other than "girly" or "boyish." Like short hair is more energic, vivacious, spunky, etc., while long hair tends to be more sinuous, supple, willowy, etc. Of course it depends on how you style it, but you get what I mean.

Honestly like i've always had long hair my whole life. i've only got myself a bob or something when i was really young. i have naturally wavy and fluffy hair and since my hair was long, it was super hard to maintain it and i sort of lost my hair texture and it just looked dry and it was a huge pain to take care of it. i was too scared to cut it back when i was 13 and 14 so i jus went with the long hair even though i didn’t like it. back in 2020 i even bleached and dyed my hair which i regret and it only made my hair frizzier. so in 2021 i decided i was going to cut my hair and i did. i did it on my own and i don't regret it till this day. i gave myself something in between a wolf cut and a mullet and i feel so much better about my hair. i no longer need to spend hours to do my hair and my hair has never been healthier. its so easy to maintain and the wavy and fluffy part of my hair really suits my recent hairstyle. i was too scared to cut it back then because i thought i'll be 'less feminine' or 'less attractive' but i don’t care anymore. i really love the way it looks on me. i really think you should experiment with your hair. if you had it long all your life and you feel like it isn’t you, just cut it a bit short, don’t go too short in the first time itself and see how it goes. then you can do it shorter if you feel like it'll look good on you.

I don't know who to ask so pls help me.....I want to get those tomboy short hairstyles. I have shoulder length hair (nvr kept longer than that). I have a big forehead, kinda slim nose (slim in length but not too slim or too wide/big), high cheekbones, lips are small as per width but med. volume (not too plump nor too thin but the lower lip looks heavier then the upper one), eye are small (not too small like east asian or big and round but small), heart shaped face jaw, hairline is kinda u know yeah heart shaped. My shoulders aren't 90 degree or slouched, shoulder are 35 cm wide approx. My neck is not long or small but my hand covers it all at one time also it is thin. My legs are longer than my body but my height is 5'4/5/6 approx. I don't have glasses but I use the aviator glasses (blue ray) at home, they seem one size bigger and make my face look thinner. My face is kind of long due to forehead but not wide. as for head shape, big from top but gets thin while coming down to shoulders.(u know those hairstyles people have which makes their upper head look big from back but smoothly become small on napes with the undercut.....i have that shape already lol) My hair is soft and thin. Not smooth. A little frizzy when I wash my hair after a day they settle. My hair is fluffy as long as I don't oil (but i need to cause my scalp is dry for lengths i use capsule) them but for volume I did say no. They are mildly wavy at the end (n I think because of me always keeping them tied) but straight in length, they are not straight nor wavy like the common way type you know. Tbh I have never used anything on my hair except for those hair vitamin capsule thrice till now.....lol. I want to get the shorter hair because lately I have been thinking it would look better but I amnot sure. When I open my hair my forehead looks so forking big and when I keep them tied my upper front face looks wide. my main problem is my forehead. I don't have bangs...I feel i look older than I am tbh. My style and nature is also boyish so i don't worry about it.

Everyone, no matter what face shape you have, there's a short hairstyle for you. Look up celebrities with your face shape and short hair and I'm sure you'll start to see things that will look good. Make sure to take hair texture and hair thickness into consideration too! There's not just 1 pixie cut style or bob cut style, so while one might not work for your features, I'm sure another one will 🥰 Also, bring a picture of what hairstyle you want to the hairdresser and show them what you want. If there's multiple angles of the same haircut, that's awesome! (But not always needed)

Not going to lie this video made me more confused because I have unrealistic expectations. I wish I was pretty. Met girls who are so feminine and pretty wishing I look like them. Always quiestioned why I never looked good with hairstyles I would find online during middle school. Wanted cute hairstyles and saw myself look ugly afterwards. I wish I was able to accept that I have a not captavaing face and ugly features to just get the hairstyle that suits me best.
